The 2/1 Game Force System is an improvement over the Standard American System that has been played by bridge players for years. The clear advantage of 2/1 is that it allows a partnership to know that game is possible with only a single bid by the responder. However, a significant disadvantage is that the opener may have between 12 and 21 high card points (HCP) when opening one of a suit, obviously a very wide range. My goal in writing this book is to provide a careful organization of topics so that one may easily convert from any standard two club opening system and in particular the 2/1 Game Force bids to Precision. In the process, one may keep most of their natural bidding sequences and the conventions they currently use with minor modifications. I have tried to eliminate the fear of the memory features used by many variations of Precision by presenting a series of bids that are geared toward simplicity and allow the reader to integrate the Precision system into their more familiar natural bidding system using the 2/1 Game Force bidding structure which includes Combined Bergen Raises, inverted minor suit raises with criss-cross, cue bidding, modified scroll bids, and many more familiar methods.

The second edition of this book incorporates the 2/1 Game Force bidding system. The book is designed to improve your bidding in 5 steps. The 1st step involves maximizing your use of the 2/1 system whenever you open with a major suit. The 2nd step involves your use of the New Minor Forcing convention to find a 5-card major in responder’s hand. The 3rd step involves adoption of the strong 2 bid, a bid of 20-21p with an unbalanced hand (one with a singleton or void). By tweaking reverses, this allows the opener to show an unbalanced hand by bidding at the 2-lelvel with 16-17p or at the 3-level with 18-19p. The 4th step involves optimizing your slam bidding with conventions to show the trump Queen. It also involves the use of the Redwood kickback convention minor suit contracts and the use of the Fourth Suit Forcing convention to ascertain whether the opener has 4or 5 cards in this 2nd bid suit. The 5th step involves the use of bids to hamper the opponents from finding their 4-4 spade fit. This involves the use of the Casey overcall and the use of the Casey-Jacoby Transfer for R’s 5-card majors. Finally, the use of inverted minors is discussed.

The Precision Diamond system provides a solution to the flaws in the Standard American bidding convention (SAYC). There are 6 notable features of my bidding system. The 1st feature is the ability of the responder to show his 5-card major suit immediately using the Casey-Jacoby Transfer. The 2nd feature is that Precision Diamond permits the opener to show his points within a 2p range from 16-21 points using the Casey Shift and the Strong 2 opening. The 3rd feature is the ability of the overcaller to show his 4-card major suit immediately by assigning 1NT to show 4s. The 4th feature of Precision Diamond is the ability of the Keycard-Asker in a slam contract to ascertain whether the opener has the trump queen using the Casey RKC method. The 5th feature is the ability of the opener to show keycards, including the trump queen, at the 4-level in the case of a minor suit slam attempt using Minorwood. The 6th feature is the ability of the opener to find a slam with a minor suit fit using the Casey Minor Rebid convention.
