The Shultz immigrant ancestor was Michael Shultz who served in the American Revolution from New Jersey. He later moved to Pennsylvania and his descendants eventually settled in Indiana. Charles Russell Shultz was born in Indiana to George Romney Shultz and the former Laura Ann Hendrix. In 1880, Charles moved with his family to Brazil, Indiana where he grew up and was trained to be an undertaker. Charles lived in the community of Brazil until 1951 when he and his wife, the former Florence D. McIntire, moved to Maryland. They were the parents of three children, two of whom lived to adulthood.
