The stunning novel from the million-copy Sunday Times bestseller, a Richard & Judy Bookclub Pick. SECRETS FROM THE PAST, UNRAVELLING IN THE PRESENT… The night before it all begins, Jude has the dream again . . . Can dreams be passed down through families? As a child Jude suffered a recurrent nightmare: running through a dark forest, crying for her mother. Now her six-year-old niece, Summer, is having the same dream, and Jude is frightened for her. A successful auctioneer, Jude is struggling to come to terms with the death of her husband. When she's asked to value a collection of scientific instruments and manuscripts belonging to Anthony Wickham, a lonely 18th century astronomer, she leaps at the chance to escape London for the untamed beauty of Norfolk, where she grew up. As Jude untangles Wickham's tragic story, she discovers threatening links to the present. What have Summer's nightmares to do with Starbrough folly, the eerie crumbling tower in the forest from which Wickham and his adopted daughter Esther once viewed the night sky? With the help of Euan, a local naturalist, Jude searches for answers in the wild, haunting splendour of the Norfolk woods. Dare she leave behind the sadness in her own life, and learn to love again? Emmalea covers three generations of average Americans living with the day-to-day choices they have made. As you are aware, choices are categorized as either being good ones or poor ones. Most of our lives are made up of a good mix of both, and the characters in Emmalea are no different. When an unbalance occurs, often because a poor choice has been made, whether made by a person or by someone else affecting that person, God has his way of restoring balance...through hope, love, and always through a pathway of forgiveness. The Red Bridge is real, the stories are not; they come from a confabulation of ideas and facts in my memory. All the stories have a mention of a Red Bridge in them. In some, the stories are connected to it, but in others, the bridge is but a cameo in the story. The bridge depicted on the cover is how I remember it from my childhood. It is a sister bridge which still stands while the actual Red Bridge has been replaced by concrete, and is not near as beautiful as the original one. I must say I am the only one with this memory and attachment to the Red Bridge. Along with memories of my Grandmother and Grandfather McAdam, it is a strong pull to my roots in my hometown of Perth, Ontario. While there may be a hint of the real, my characters are totally fictitious and are not meant to symbolize anyone real, living or dead. They are created for fun and enjoyment.

She finds herself torn between the desire to get to know him better and her determination to stay out of the limelight. Of course the media has other ideas—and someone doesn’t like all the attention Ally’s getting. When threats aimed at destroying her fashion career go too far, Ally’s convinced she’s living in crazy town. The sensible thing would be to retreat home before it all ends in spectacular fashion. But will Ally be leaving more than her dreams behind if she says goodbye to Hollywood?
