Caprius Seaton, prince of the country of Elysium on the planet Alamptria, just wants to lead a simple life. He does not want to become an agent on the council of Confidus, who is his father, the king. But according to an ancient prophecy, Caprius and a woman named Melina Hampshire will have a son named Lantrinon who will destroy the dark lord Makoor, whose goncool and vampire forces have begun trying to kill Caprius. Though they were once lovers, Caprius and Melina separated when she was seduced and betrayed by Capriuss friend, Fenison Torington. Now, six years later, Melinas mother is being manipulated by Makoor to oppose the reunion of the two young people. When the woman dies, the way is opened for the two lovers to reunite and fulfill the prophecy. Because no evidence of the supernatural nature of his attackers remains, his father is convinced that the neighboring country of Bramonia is responsible for the numerous atrocities. While on a motorbike holiday, Caprius is attacked by teams of goncools and vampires, who capture a train on which Melina Hampshire is riding, killing everyone except her and rigging it to explode when it pulls into the depot. However, the elf wizard Grongone intervenes from afar and enables Caprius to rescue Melina and destroy the train with all the vampires and goncoolsonce again eliminating all evidence of the existence of vampires and Makoor. Despite his sons claims, King Confidus plans to attack the neighboring country in three days. Caprius experiences a series of visions that confirm that wizard Grongone has selected the Seaton family to save the planet of Alamptria from the forces of the underworld. On his own, Caprius makes his way to Serenity River, which forms the border, where he evades a huge nest of vampires. In Bramonia, Caprius meets with the soldier Brandimoir, the brother-in-law of Melinas sister, Selena, and convinces him that he wants to stop the pending war between their two countries. Convinced of Capriuss claims by a vampire that his soldiers kill, Brandimoir sends a courier with the creatures head to King Confidus as evidence. Caprius meets up with a human agent named Shelly Hathoway who accompanies him in his air shuttle to Crimson Peak, where the vampires and goncools have their base. The pair fly the shuttle into the heart of the underworld forces subterranean lair, where thousands of vampires and goncools are preparing to overwhelm the world. Allowing himself to be captured, Caprius triggers a timed explosion within the vampires stolen space capsule and escapes with Shelly, though he has been wounded. The pair escape as the GRIM lair is destroyed, but so does Samuel Trenton. Returned to Castle Elysium, Capricus recovers and is reunited with Melina. He is now a fully-fledged knight master committed to fulfilling his destiny as the father of the man who will deliver Alamptria from the dark dangers that are coming.

In the Land of Ox, Clayton Thomas Moore is a righteous follower of Christ, but he is also a student of evolutionary biology. Moore has found a way to mix science and Christianityand in the process, bring enlightenment to both sides of the spectrum. However, in the Land of Ox, there is a strong divide between science and religion. Because of this divide, Moore is brought up on charges. Moore must appear before the Oxian Supreme Court and answer for his actions. He is guilty of unsettling the faith-science split, threatening the cultural equilibrium in the Land of Ox. As Moore prepares to defend his case before the Oxian Supreme Court justices, though, it becomes apparent that the Supreme Court justices are deeply divided along lines of religious belief. Oxbowl Incident is a religious courtroom drama that argues for the validity of science and religion. Although the case of Moore vs. Oxbowl is fictitious, the farce is not far from the truth, as modern society wrestles with similar quandaries. Will the Oxian Supreme Court hand down punishment upon Clayton Thomas Moore? Or will the varied beliefs of the Oxian justices leaveMoore to be the last man standing in this battle of Christian faith?

The seventh collection of poetry to be released by Thomas Porky McDonald, And These Thy Gifts: Poems 20072009, contains another five-book set of unique material. In Theresa, Red and Serenity, the self-styled ramble poet began an arc that would permeate throughout the entire volume. Pieces like God through the Lens of a Kaleidoscope, You Wonder Where Were At, and These Thereafters all spoke of the current world, in relation to a world that once was. Where is My Spy? and Irish Girls in Waiting cited friends McDonald had made in his two decades working in NYC Transit, and Incident on Blake Street, Inside the Crawford Grill, and Is Heaven Such a Place? touched on the ballpark. In book two, Contemplating Farewell, the collection amps up, as the impending demise of Shea Stadium and the sudden loss of a dear childhood friend take center stage. I Wonder About Yesterday and A Final Opened, Indeed honor Roy Riegel, who passed away on Opening Day of the 2008 baseball season, and The Lights of Skillman, A Ramp Overlooking Ecstasy, and In 73 all looked back at Shea, even as it still hung on for dear life. Whispering to Heaven, the third book of the set, used a trip to Los Angeles (Risin Mojo on the Diamond, The Night the 70s Returned and When Nothing Turns Up Differently), Anaheim (The Boater Battalion, A Rubys Diner Monday) and San Francisco (Where Were Without Willie, The Known at Polo Guy) to lead up to the final days of the old yard in Queens (Sittin in the Greens). In the last two books of the collection, On the Steps With You and The Wonder of the Silver Wander, the final days of Shea and the election and inauguration of Barack Obama as the first black U.S. President offer up the most evocative images. The Planes Weep Openly, And So the Fade Begins, The Sound of Hope and Another Tuesday (Steps) and The Seats that Have Come Home Again, Agee and Jones, From 16 to 44 and Whistle Stops (Wander) offer up the best of these. All in all, And These Thy Gifts: Poems 2007-2009, might well be McDonalds most reflective volume yet.

Betrayed by a woman he trusted, he retreats to his hometown, Wirralong, to serve as his brother’s best man and rebuild his life. But change isn’t easy, and it’s even harder when Jesse has to fight his fierce attraction to the maid of honour—a woman well aware of the darkness in his past. Beautician Serenity Strachan’s flippant one-liners and vibrant hair colours are armour to protect her fragile heart. She’s always crushed on Jesse, but she’s determined to keep him and his sordid past at an arm’s length. That’s easier said than done when Jesse asks Serenity to help renovate an old property. And when they're trapped underground in a tunnel cave-in, their emotional barriers fall faster than the tunnel walls. When rescue arrives, they question their new emotional intimacy. Can Serenity trust this new Jesse with her heart? And can Jesse trust that Serenity will ignore the lure of a fortune to keep his secrets safe?

This compelling casebook integrates critical incidents, spirituality, and counseling with diverse populations dealing with issues across the life development continuum. It offers counselor educators, students, and clinicians a highly useful educational tool for more effective teaching and practice that will foster lively discussion, case conceptualization, and intervention skills. Using an applied format, the book is organized in seven sections: life span issues, spirituality and wellness, specific disorders, substance abuse, career, diverse populations, and spiritual interventions. More than 50 contributors have been selected either to present specific incidents or to react to them. After each case is described, an expert practitioner answers the questions posed and provides additional insight and alternative strategies. One hundred million people have played World of Warcraft in the 12 years since its inception. Those people did more than play; they worked, they fought, they triumphed, they held entire game servers hostage, they even married each other in real life. They developed new identities, swapping their workaday selves for warriors, mages, assassins, and healers. Blood Plagues and Endless Raids explores a wild, incredibly complex culture partly through the author's engaging personal story but also through the stories of other players and developers. It represents the definitive (and only) account of one of the world's biggest pop culture phenomena.
