Scream Queen Desiree Starr is tired of starring in one low budget horror movie after another, each passing film, her wardrobe becomes skimpier and skimpier. Private Martin Riley, a simple solider from Iowa is recruited for "Operation Reptilian," a dangerous experiment where he is suppose to become a "Solider of the Future"--but he becomes something else entirely different. Dr. Morrie Madden, a military "mad scientist" who has played God one too many times. Aging British actor Blake Smith, once a leading man in horror films, but that was before his face started to deteriorate and now has to wear masks in public. All their lives become intersected and a hell breaks loose in the Devil Bayou swamplands. "With "Night of the Scream Queen," Linnea Quigley and Michael McCarty have penned my favorite guilty pleasure novel of the year. This is over-the-top good fun, the way they used to make it down at the drive in. I loved it, and I bet you will too. Highly recommended " --Joe McKinney, Bram Stoker Award-winning author of "Flesh Eaters" and "Dead City"

Why 'Nona, a story in waiting?' After seeking the Lord as to why my story wasn't being accepted. Deep in the recesses of my heart the Lord said, "It's not my time." ''Not Your time? Why have I been working so hard.? Your timing?", I asked, almost irritated. The Lord answered, ''There is still much for you to walk through then you'll write. There are more trials to overcome, but I will bring you through; some good, some difficult." "What more trials? More suffering? 0 Lord, haven't I gone through enough? And my Dear husband? The good I'll take, but more suffering?" No need to argue with the Lord, He knows what He has purposed. In submitting to the Lord on His timing and will I felt His peace and knew His timing of 'my story in waiting ' would be for His glory and my victory.

"Infant and child rape are an unfathomable offense, so much so that it hurts to talk about it, gives us chills to read about it. Ford brings compassion and awareness to an atrocity that goes too often ignored or unreported. In the weaving together of journal entries, poems, epigrams, letters, and portions of scholarly papers, Ford sets out to leave a written testimony for her daughter and to lift the veil of secrecy as one step toward the prevention of such unspeakable assault. Sharing this story is an act of love, a project of faith, and, most of all, a declaration of the power of courage and hope."--BOOK JACKET.

It has been over ten years since I left Cambodia. Not a day has passed I don't think of the alternative of my life if I was not given the opportunity to leave, to have a family, and to have the education I do today. My life journey was unique, yet I am not the only one who experienced incredible hardship. I was one of the millions of children around the world who had the potential to make a difference if only they were given the opportunity to do so. This book is about the true story of one of these unknown children who was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to change not only his life but others around him in ways he had never imagined possible. I did not write this book for me but for all the children whose lives and experiences are unknown and unheard of to the world because they do not have the privilege of knowledge and opportunity to tell their stories. You and I, just like our life stories, don't have to be beautiful because we are real. Over the years, I found that sharing my life journey with those who are willing to accept me for who I am have been a tremendous help for me to cope with all that I went through. This story is one of the countless others that someone has yet to share. Whether it is through word of mouth or written scripts, I hope that my story finds its way to your heart and inspires you to share yours. I thank you for reading this memoir from the beginning to the end. It has been a privilege to be in my position, to be able to voice myself, and to be heard.
