Family history and genealogical information about the descendants of Christoph Scherer who was born 3 May 1805 in Germany. He married in Germany sometime prior to the year 1832 and immigrated to America with his wife and two children ca. 1834. They settled in Baltimore, Maryland. After the death of his first wife, he married Christiana Fisher 17 October 1847. Christoph was the father of five sons and six daughters. Descendants lived in Maryland, Texas, Washington and elsewhere.

Bridging the fields of conservation, art history, and museum curating, this volume contains the principal papers from an international symposium titled "Historical Painting Techniques, Materials, and Studio Practice" at the University of Leiden in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from June 26 to 29, 1995.
