Adam Mott (1762-1839), a Quaker, was born in North Hempstead Township, Long Island, the son of Adam and Sarah Willis Mott. He married Anne Mott (1768-1852), daughter of James Mott of Mamaroneck, New York, Adam's second cousin, in 1785. They had six children, 1786-1798. He died at Rochester, New York.
