Excerpt from Saint Louis Clinical Record, 1882, Vol. 8: An Independent Journal of Medicine and Surgery All the experiments of Wegner have been instituted upon the healthy perito neum of rabbits, said to be more vulnerable than that of man. Chiene, Of Edinburgh, lays claims to unsurpassed results in herniotomy, notwithstanding he places a drain-tube in the hernial sac in such a way that one extremity protrudes into the abdomen.
