The words contained within this body of work were strung together to tell a tale of greed, lust, selfish indulgence, the unbearable weight of a broken spirit, and the triumph and sorrow gained from placing too much faith in the proverbial human heart. Things happen. Some good. Some bad. The difference between the two lying completely within the realm of the moral compass of each individual bearing witness to this particular piece. The only other elaboration Ill offer is that it involves a young man named Curtis Winslow; the ruffian who first made his presence known within the pages of Jasmines Tears and continued to remain a dominant figure within the confines of a book entitled The Redemption of Crestwood Heights. He is by no means alone in this current literary rendition of his life thats taking place at a point on a timeline quite some distance before his appearance in Jasmines Tears. The temptress Amy Bradshaw is present to wreak her own brand of havoc in his life along with the likes of Teri Neilson, April Fletcher, and many others. The trip; one of drug induced debauchery. The journey; one of self examination and realization. If you want, read it. If not, leave it where you found it. Surely the content of these passages arent worth any undo grief or unwarranted interruptions of the natural order of things, granted they just might have a tendency to do both.

"The ice is a cold mistress. As the league's most eligible goalie, Max Fournier has access to his fair share of willing puck bunnies, but right now he's more interested in bringing home another championship than a one-night stand. A romantic at heart, Max believes in love; he's just not great at relationships. So when he finally meets a nice girl who's not blinded by his celebrity, he's feeling the heat--and the pressure to save her from herself. Between working two jobs and raising her sister's kids, Julianne Bradley doesn't have time for sports--or men. All she knows about Max is that he's the sexiest customer to ever grace her gas-station counter. And he sees past her tired eyes and makes Jules yearn for things she can't have: a glamorous fling, a passionate lover, and the time to enjoy both. Max makes her feel like Cinderella, even though Jules has enough baggage to crush a glass slipper. Luckily, he's no prince--only a fierce competitor determined to win her heart"--Page 4 of cover.

A new translation of the classical Tamil masterpiece on ethics, power, and friendship, bringing Tiruvalluvar’s poetry and philosophy to a new generation seeking practical wisdom and spiritual sustenance Drawing on the poetic tradition of W. S. Merwin, Wendell Berry, and William Carlos Williams, and nurtured by 2 decades of study under Tamil scholar Dr. K. V. Ramakoti, this new translation of the Kural by Thomas Hitoshi Pruiksma brings English readers closer than ever to the brilliant inner and outer music of Tiruvalluvar’s work and ideas. Tiruvalluvar’s Tirukkural is a masterwork of poetry and practical philosophy. On par with other world classics such as the Tao Te Ching, the Kural is a compendium of 1,330 short philosophical verses, or kurals, that together cover a wide range of personal and cosmic experience, such as— POLITICS: Harsh rule that brings idiots together—nothing Burdens the earth more HOSPITALITY: The life that cherishes strangers each day Never falls upon ruin FRIENDSHIP: Friendship is not a face smiling—friendship Is a heart that smiles GREED: Those who won’t give and enjoy—even with billions They have nothing Accompanying the translation is a foreword by the founder of the Institute for Sacred Activism, Andrew Harvey; an introduction by the translator and scholar Archana Venkatesan; and a “Commentary of Notes,” in which Pruiksma elucidates key words and shares insights from important Tamil commentaries. Rich with indelible wordplay, learning, and heart, Pruiksma’s translation transforms the barrier of language into a bridge, bringing the fullness of Tiruvalluvar’s poetic intensity to a new generation.
