Rodney James Alcala, an American serial killer whose true crime story will give you chills He was a killing machine... Throughout the late 1960's and 1970's, a man roamed the streets with a camera. While photography was a "hip "hobby to have at the time, this man was different from the rest. He asked young girls and women to pose for him, often nude, and a few of them he even molested and murdered. It all started with Tali Shapiro, an eight-year-old girl that was saved by a Good Samaritan who witnessed her climb into a vehicle driven by a man. The entire scene seemed off to the man, who called police shortly after he followed the vehicle to an apartment complex. By the time the police arrived on the scene, Tali Shapiro was almost dead, and Rodney Alcala had retreated out the back door. He was apprehended for the rape and torture of Tali Shapiro, but he was released on parole not long after he was convicted and imprisoned. His newfound freedom came at a cost to many women and children. Dubbed the Dating Game Killer because he was on an episode of the Dating Game show in 1978, Rodney Alcala's body count is still rising. He kept photographs of his victims, and police found over 1,700 in a storage locker Alcala had rented. Some of the pictures Alcala took have been released by NYPD (New York) and the HBPD (California) in hope to identify possible victims of this psychopath. This book is about the victims' investigators know about, and it gives a small insight into the life of one of the most vicious and active serial killers America has ever known. Many believe that Alcala may have killed over a 100 women and girls. Warning, information found in this book may be too graphic for some to handle. Scroll back up and grab your copy today!

The true crime story of the California serial killer who won a date on the 1970s TV show The Dating Game during his killing spree. The real story behind the Anna Kendrick Netflix film Woman of the Hour In 1978, Rodney Alcala was a contestant on The Dating Game, one of America’s most popular television shows at the time. Handsome, successful, and romantic, he was embraced by the audience—and chosen as the winner by the beautiful bachelorette. To viewers across the country, Rodney seemed like the answer to every woman’s dreams. Until they learned the truth about his once and future crimes... Ten years before his TV appearance, Rodney was charged with the sexual assault and attempted murder of an eight-year-old girl. In the decades that followed, he would be accused of seven murders—and, as new DNA evidence continues to be uncovered, the list may grow. The case is so disturbing that it’s been documented in several news outlets, from People magazine and USA Today to 48 Hours Mystery and Dr. Phil. The Dating Game Killer is the shocking true story about the dark and twisted man. “Ms. Sands presents the crimes and evidence with professional skill and objectivity…. A must read!”—Steve Hodel, New York Times bestselling true-crime author, Black Dahlia Avenger: A Genius for Murder, Detective Supervisor, LAPD Hollywood Homicide Division

This book presents an in-depth psychological analysis of the development of the serial killer personality that will fascinate all readers, from the experienced criminology student to the casual true-crime reader. Real-Life Monsters: A Psychological Examination of the Serial Murderer takes a different approach than most titles on a similar topic: the author develops and proposes an original psychological explanation, rather than simply repeating some of the long-held theories for these criminals' heinous actions. The work addresses current issues, presents detailed commentary and personal observation, and contains photographs that will fascinate general readers interested in the subjects of true crime, serial killers, and psychopathology. The first part of the book carefully examines the research past and present regarding clinical, psychological, societal, and biological bases for violent behavior, specific to the serial murderer. Part two establishes a novel theory of the pattern of violence and then explores this hypothesis through eight case studies, interviews with serial killers, and elemental analysis. The work also contains a chapter based on conversations between the author and a convicted serial murderer.

**WARNING** This book contains graphic crime scene details and statements that some may find very disturbing. Hiding in the shadows of depravity, Rodney James Alcala was one of the most cunning and terrifying of all serial killers. Highly mobile, and able to fit in anywhere, Alcala 'flew under the radar' during his murderous career in the 1960s and 1970s. Even though he was arrested and in prison since 1980, his trials and appeals were not complete until March 2010. He was sentenced to death for the murders of four young women and a 12-year-old girl. However, it is firmly believed that his victim count is much higher. Law enforcement found a secret storage locker of Alcala's containing hundreds of photographs of young women, children, and even two boys. They believe more of his victims could be among the unidentified photos. Can you identify any of us? Our photos were found in the secret storage locker of a Serial Killer.

Jeanne Trantels life was perfector so it seemed. She had it all: a loving husband who worked on Wall Street, two beautiful, healthy sons, and a dream home in the affluent Long Island community where she grew up, surrounded by friends and family. But then, with one phone call, the life she knew and loved came crashing down around her. Your husband, the caller said, is in custody for a series of bank robberies that have occurred all over Nassau County. Jeanne would soon discover that her husband, Stephen, was living a lie. He was no longer the Wall Street trader that Jeanne, his family, and his friends all thought him to be. Instead of heading to Wall Street each morning as he claimed, Stephen was robbing banks. In Disguised Blessings, Jeanne chronicles the human toll of this ripped-from-the-headlines true story. Consumed by anger and humiliation and faced with mounting debt and piles of unpaid bills, Jeanne entered what she describes as the darkest time in her life. But Jeannes story is not a tragedy; it is a story of hope and redemption, of faith, love, and the power of forgiveness. With heart-wrenching candor, Jeanne describes how, with the generosity of friends and family and the unconditional love of her two boys, she was able to put the broken pieces of her life back together, in the end discovering that from tragedy can come Disguised Blessings.

"Alashka" is a lost book. It was first published in 1979, spliced together with Tarn's "Selected Poems" up until that point. Distribution was limited, and thus Janet Rodney's first collection vanished from view. This new edition corrects that.
