Canadian participation in the United States' Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) consists of monitoring, technology transfer, integration of Canadian sites and facilities into the U.S. program, and a complimentary research program conducted in Canada on Canadian sites and facilities. Special technical areas to be addressed in both countries include asphalt technical research, long-term pavement performance, maintenance cost effectiveness, protection of concrete bridge components, cement and concrete, and snow and ice control. The document also presents investment options and describes the organization and management of C-SHRP. Project statements on technology transfer and the various research projects identified are also given.
