Development aid has recently become an important part of international politics in general and Norwegian foreign policy in particular. This study explores the moral discourse of contemporary Norwegian development aid organisations and professional development workers. Adopting a discourse-analytical and multi-disciplinary approach, key concepts such as human rights, charity, justice and compassion are discussed. Furthermore, the notions of professionalism and partnerships in development are addressed, as well as the role and life-style of the individual development worker. The following development agencies have been analysed: Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Norwegian Church Aid, Save the Children Norway, and Norwegian People's Aid. Twenty-three staff members and representatives of these organisations have been interviewed.

What Does Money Mean to You? Have you decided that money is more valuable than you? "Money is never the problem in our lives," says Gary Douglas. "It's about what we're willing to receive. And what we're willing to receive is just a choice." What are you choosing to receive? Are you choosing to have money in your life? What if generating money and having money was fun and joyful? What if, in having fun and joy with money, you receive more of it? What would that be like? Money follows joy; joy does not follow money. Do you only generate enough money to "get by?" Have you made having money unattainable? What if you could generate obscene amounts of wealth easily and joyfully? Most programs about money deal with saving or investing; they do not address how to make money a reality in your life. Right Riches for You contains a unique set of practical tools and energetic processes you can use to unlock the areas of your life where you limit the amount of money you can have and receive. The Right Riches for You tools empower you to change your financial situation with ease and permanence. It's simply a choice. What are you choosing?

This popular text focuses on the African American struggle for civil rights from 1945-2002. William T. Martin Riches shows how the black community used the institutions created by de jure segregation to overcome apartheid and white resistance. Riches emphasises their influence on other groups demanding justice in America and warns that recent events and administrations have endangered the gains made by the movement.

In 'Riches Are Your Right,' Joseph Murphy, a renowned author, and advocate of the power of the mind, presents a compelling and unique approach to attaining wealth and abundance. Going beyond traditional notions of wealth accumulation, Murphy delves into the realm of consciousness and explores the unlimited potential of the human mind to manifest prosperity. Through insightful anecdotes, practical techniques, and transformative exercises, Murphy guides readers on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. By understanding and utilizing the laws of the mind, readers can overcome self-limiting beliefs, release negative patterns, and activate their subconscious mind's innate ability to attract wealth and opportunities. Unlike conventional approaches to wealth creation, "Riches Are Your Right" emphasizes the importance of gratitude, generosity, and spiritual alignment as catalysts for abundance.

Dr. Napoleon Hill’s landmark book Think and Grow Rich does not restrict the concept of riches to such narrow parameters as fortune and fame. You have the right to be rich, and you deserve to be rich in every way—personally and spiritually—as well as financially. This seemingly simple idea spawned a philosophy about wealth and success that has permeated every generation since its inception. Your Right to Be Rich gathers transcripts from the most vital and important speeches given by Napoleon Hill. Available in the past only as audio editions and sound-bite snippets, transcripts from these speeches will be presented in print for the first time here.

Rich or poor, we all face the problem of money. But is money chiefly a personal problem of how we manage our resources or a societal problem of how we organize the economy? Jacques Ellul exposes the folly of a purely societal approach -- whether communism, collectivism, socialism, or capitalism -- and argues for individual responsibility. Money, he says, is not neutral, somthing we can use as we like. Instead it is a powerful agent that sets itself against God's kingdom. Tracing the scriptural attitudes toward wealth from Old Testament sacramentalism through New Testament renunciation, he challenges Christians to live by the law of grace and not by the law of the marketplace.

Rainforest Warriors is a historical, ethnographic, and documentary account of a people, their threatened rainforest, and their successful attempt to harness international human rights law in their fight to protect their way of life—part of a larger story of tribal and indigenous peoples that is unfolding all over the globe. The Republic of Suriname, in northeastern South America, contains the highest proportion of rainforest within its national territory, and the most forest per person, of any country in the world. During the 1990s, its government began awarding extensive logging and mining concessions to multinational companies from China, Indonesia, Canada, and elsewhere. Saramaka Maroons, the descendants of self-liberated African slaves who had lived in that rainforest for more than 300 years, resisted, bringing their complaints to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. In 2008, when the Inter-American Court of Human Rights delivered its landmark judgment in their favor, their efforts to protect their threatened rainforest were thrust into the international spotlight. Two leaders of the struggle to protect their way of life, Saramaka Headcaptain Wazen Eduards and Saramaka law student Hugo Jabini, were awarded the Goldman Prize for the Environment (often referred to as the environmental Nobel Prize), under the banner of "A New Precedent for Indigenous and Tribal Peoples." Anthropologist Richard Price, who has worked with Saramakas for more than forty years and who participated actively in this struggle, tells the gripping story of how Saramakas harnessed international human rights law to win control of their own piece of the Amazonian forest and guarantee their cultural survival.
