Jellyfish are one of the most conspicuous animals in our oceans and are renowned for their propensity to form spectacular blooms. `Jellyfish', a group that includes scyphomedusae, hydromedusae, siphonophores and ctenophores, are important zooplankton predators throughout the world's estuaries and oceans.
