Restart. Restart is a tale of a disaster and rebirth; of a sleepy Creator and the ways of humanity. One day, just like every other, a forgotten race awakens. Will the master put the world in ruins? Are people strong enough to stop him, just like they did twenty years ago and would this bring forth a greater good? Seven extraordinary minds, one strong government, a ruthless experiment, a hidden Ace, a father and a lost child - what unites their destiny, and who will win the war? Relith. Relith tells the story of an ordinary human...if you allow it to be so. An ancient legend is gaining access to a pragmatic metropolis. One man is being drawn away from home but would he feel estranged? When Christopher finds himself in an odd new world, he does not know what to expect. He is lost and insecure but soon enough finds his true name and nature. Will the Londoner accept his new-old destiny or will he succumb to the routine?

Gears have served as indispensable components across a spectrum of sectors, including automotive, aerospace, industrial applications or wind turbines, for many decades. However, increasing requirements and current market developments are constantly presenting the transmission technology industry with new challenges. In modern gear transmissions, competition extends beyond pricing and hinges on factors such as load-carrying capacity, operational reliability, and noise reduction performance. Modern transmission have to achieve high power density, low weight and minimal noise emissions. The current trend towards e-mobility, coupled with general ecological and economical challenges to improve resource efficiency, lead to increased demands on the entire process chain in gear production. At this year's Aachen Forum on Gear Production (AFGP), hosted by RWTH Aachen University's WZL in collaboration with the Research Association for Drive Technology (FVA), the central theme will revolve around the manufacturing of gears for use in e-mobility applications. The spectrum of topics ranges from process and tool design in line with requirements to the manufacturing of individual gear geometries and measures for continuous quality assurance. Additionally, the event will delve into areas related to digitalization and the advancement of sustainability in both gear production and its application.

The Nigerian Civil War, 1967-1970 (also known as the Biafran War) has been described as a 'forgotten war'. Yet it led to the birth of the NGO Doctors without Borders / Medecins sans frontieres and equipped journalists with the intercultural skills they later used in their coverage of other African conflicts. The Biafran conflict equally ended up strengthening the special relationship between France and Nigeria. From 1970 in particular, the Nigerian education sector was taken up with a wave of francophilia, which boosted the teaching of French in Language programmes at the secondary school level. The Civil War, which ravaged the South-Eastern part of the federation, was, above all, a collective experience which inspired poets, novelists and playwrights - Achebe, Soyinka, Okigbo, Saro-Wiwa, Okpewho, Adichie and others, while bringing about a massive religious revival which affected the whole region. The war mobilised politicians and NGOs, it changed the country and brought it into the limelight. This book reveals, through the study of oral genres, radio bulletins and the impact of the conflict on literature and the Web, the human history of the war, the role played by the media and the deep scar the conflict left on the bodies and minds of survivors.

Negotiating relief and freedom is an investigation of short- and long-term responses to disaster in the British Caribbean colonies during the ‘long’ nineteenth century. It explores how colonial environmental degradation made their inhabitants both more vulnerable to and expanded the impact of natural phenomena such as hurricanes, earthquakes, and volcanic eruptions. It shows that British approaches to disaster ‘relief’ prioritised colonial control and ‘fiscal prudence’ ahead of the relief of the relief of suffering. In turn, that this pattern played out continuously in the long nineteenth century is a reminder that in the Caribbean the transition from slavery to waged labour was not a clean one. Times of crisis brought racial and social tensions to the fore and freedoms once granted, were often quickly curtailed.
