In particular, there is given a detailed history of the epidemic of Small Pox from which the state has suffered within that time, the disease making its appearance soon after the date of our last report. Excerpt from Eighth Report of the State Board of Health of Wisconsin: For the Period From Nov. 1, 1882, to Sept. 30, 1884; First Biennial Report It is an established fact that by such measures any locality may assume an attitude of defense against the invasion of disease, and that even if by their adoption disease in some of its forms can not be wholly prevented from making its appearance, it will at least be deprived of much of its power of extension and of many of its terrors. This Board, therefore, while earnestly advising the unremitting use of such precautions, also advises against undue fear or anxi ety should Cholera by chance he brought to any locality in which they are employed, feeling sure that in such a locality any visitation of the disease may be expected to be light and comparatively easy to control.
