Net primary productivity (NPP) in an ecosystem is the difference between its ability to fix atmospheric carbon through photosynthesis and its release of carbon during respiration. This publication is a guide to the use of a software package developed to enable inexpensive & rapid assessment of NPP at one-metre spatial resolution and at one-year intervals using remote sensing imagery.
