They have dark-colored surface layers like the Tama and Dodgeville soils and are deep and moderately per meable. Basins are limited to those obtained by the Soil Conservation Service at La Crosse and Fennimore, Wis., and the Ralston Creek cooperative project of the State University of Iowa, Department of Agriculture, and the United States Geological Survey.
