The goals of our book are to prepare students for final examinations and to prime them and young surgeons to face the real world of surgical practice. To achieve these goals, we have been listening to feedback from students and colleagues whose advice has been invaluable. Accordingly, in this fourth edition, we have made changes in the content as well as the format. We have been warned that many eager students move to the provided adjacent answer before allowing time to solve a question on their own. The advice was to move answers to the end of each chapter. We hope this change will generate, in students, enough sense of excitement and curiosity to motivate them to think, analyze and choose the most appropriate diagnosis and management. We have made more extensive changes in the content. The number of plain MCQs has risen from 678 to 753. Two new section of clinical photographs and clinical imaging-based questions have added further 117 MCQs. Stress has been laid on more case scenario questions, with the aim of consolidating knowledge obtained from textbooks and adapting it for use under common surgical situations. We still encourage students to use this book for evaluation of their grasp of the science of surgery and for the purpose of a quick review before examinations. We hope it will be of value in this regard and that it will be as enjoyable and thought stimulating for the reader as it has been for us in the process of composing.

It's been known for years that usability testing can dramatically improve products. But with a typical price tag of $5,000 to $10,000 for a usability consultant to conduct each round of tests, it rarely happens. In this how-to companion to Don't Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability, Steve Krug spells out a streamlined approach to usability testing that anyone can easily apply to their own Web site, application, or other product. (As he said in Don't Make Me Think, "It's not rocket surgery".) Using practical advice, plenty of illustrations, and his trademark humor, Steve explains how to: Test any design, from a sketch on a napkin to a fully-functioning Web site or application Keep your focus on finding the most important problems (because no one has the time or resources to fix them all) Fix the problems that you find, using his "The least you can do" approach By paring the process of testing and fixing products down to its essentials ("A morning a month, that's all we ask"), Rocket Surgery makes it realistic for teams to test early and often, catching problems while it's still easy to fix them. Rocket Surgery Made Easy adds demonstration videos to the proven mix of clear writing, before-and-after examples, witty illustrations, and practical advice that made Don't Make Me Think so popular.

Surgery: A Case Based Clinical Review has proven to be the premiere resource to help prepare medical students for the surgical shelf exam and clinical wards. The second edition was conceived after listening to the feedback we received from students. We have added several new chapters and updated the others. This book continues to provide the reader with a comprehensive understanding of surgical diseases in one easy-to-use reference that combines multiple teaching formats. The book begins using a case based approach. The cases presented cover the diseases most commonly encountered on a surgical rotation. The cases are followed by a series of short questions and answers, designed to provide further understanding of the important aspects of the history, physical examination, differential diagnosis, diagnostic work-up and management, and questions that may arise on surgical rounds and on the shelf exam. The book is written in an easy-to-understand manner to help reinforce important surgical exam concepts. The second edition of Surgery: A Case Based Clinical Review will be of great utility for medical students when they rotate on surgery, as well as interns, physician assistant students, nursing students, and nurse practitioner students.
