THE SIGNAL WAS RECEIVED Ten years after a deep space transmission was broadcast from a futuristic citadel hidden in the Arctic ice, Jon Hudson finds himself in a position beyond comprehension. His days of lazy Sasquatch hunting on behalf of the DHS's Fusion Center--Paranormal (FC-P) have been a fading memory since the appearance of Nemesis, the goddess of vengeance, reborn through genetic tinkering. Now he longs for those quiet days once more. THE AEROS HAVE RETURNED Facing down giant kaiju has become almost commonplace for Hudson and the FC-P, who he regards as his family, but the threat now facing them is global. An alien race known as the Aeros, summoned to Earth ten years ago, have arrived in orbit, hell-bent on destroying their ancient enemy, the Ferox, along with all of humanity...in all dimensions of reality. ALL EARTHS WILL BE DESTROYED Facing off against an invasion of city-destroying kaiju, a massive mothership and an assault in a parallel world, Hudson must bolster the FC-P's ranks. Joined by Milos 'Cowboy' Vesely, Hudson must journey through alternate dimensions to gather a one-of-a-kind legion of defenders, including a smart-mouthed soldier, a woman who can animate the lifeless, a time traveler, a robot-man, a powerful king and an assassin who can slip between frequencies of reality. With Project Legion, Jeremy Robinson has created an epic series finale, bringing together characters and plot elements from more than a dozen different novels and series. The result is a crossover novel, ten years in the making, the likes of which have never been seen outside of comic books and movies like Captain America - Civil War. Project Legion is an apocalyptic end to the first story arc of the bestselling kaiju-thriller series: The Nemesis Saga. Novels whose characters or plot elements are featured in Project Legion include: The Nemesis Saga, Island 731, The Didymus Contingency, Raising the Past, Nazi Hunter: Atlantis, The Last Hunter (The Antarktos Saga), Xom-B (aka: Uprising), the Jack Sigler Thrillers and MirrorWorld. Also mentioned are elements from the following novels: Refuge, Kronos and Beneath. Although reading all these novels is NOT a prerequisite for enjoying Project Legion, they will help flesh out the included characters.

Those they deem worthy gain a chance to compete in the toughest training program ever designed. Terra Mason, a plain eighteen-year-old girl from the modern United States, has an impressive stubborn streak. Her persistence and bravery gains the notice and sponsorship of one of the Aeon Legion's greatest heroines. Now Terra must turn that stubbornness into determination if she is to contend with history's finest soldiers and somehow pass the Aeon Legion's final test, the mysterious Labyrinth. She will not quit. Terra will prove that even someone as average as her can still be a heroine. Hanns Speer is polite, good-natured, charming, a genius inventor of a time travel machine, and a dedicated member of the Nazi Party. Yet he cannot understand why people from the future regard him and his fellow Nazis as monsters. Now he must use his charisma and cunning to challenge the seemingly invincible Aeon Legion and its monopoly on time travel. He will not quit. Hanns will steal history itself if he has to, mistakenly believing it will prove him to be a hero.

The evolution of modern computers began more than 50 years ago and has been driven to a large extend by rapid advances in electronic technology during that period. The first computers ran one application (user) at a time. Without the benefit of operating systems or compilers, the application programmers were responsible for managing all aspects of the hardware. The introduction of compilers allowed programmers to express algorithms in abstract terms without being concerned with the bit level details of their implementation. Time sharing operating systems took computing systems one step further and allowed several users and/or applications to time share the computing services of com puters. With the advances of networks and software tools, users and applications were able to time share the logical and physical services that are geographically dispersed across one or more networks. Virtual Computing (VC) concept aims at providing ubiquitous open computing services in analogous way to the services offered by Telephone and Elec trical (utility) companies. The VC environment should be dynamically setup to meet the requirements of a single user and/or application. The design and development of a dynamically programmable virtual comput ing environments is a challenging research problem. However, the recent advances in processing and network technology and software tools have successfully solved many of the obstacles facing the wide deployment of virtual computing environments as will be outlined next.

War has evolved, and so have Canada’s security needs. A key asset in any military is high-quality personnel. However, the Canadian Armed Forces ability to attract quality personnel hinges on the success of Veteran Affairs Canada’s ability to care for service men and women, and their families. The essays in this book identify failures within the Government of Canada and Veterans Affairs Canada to address the needs of veterans, especially the wounded and their families. The Government of Canada advertises benefits and services that veterans are supposed to receive, but institutional bias and indifference prevent them from accessing these much-needed resources. In addition to outlining various problems within the current system, this book offers numerous solutions to help policymakers, veterans, and others work together to rectify this situation, enabling Canada to continue to meet its military needs and obligations both at home and abroad.

Now also available in the complete collection Legion: The Many Lives of Stephen Leeds. A novella from #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson, Legion is a fast-paced, witty, and supremely fun thriller with a psychological bent. Stephen Leeds is perfectly sane. It’s his hallucinations who are mad. A genius of unrivaled aptitude, Stephen can learn any new skill, vocation, or art in a matter of hours. However, to contain all of this, his mind creates hallucinatory people—Stephen calls them aspects—to hold and manifest the information. Wherever he goes, he is joined by a team of imaginary experts to give advice, interpretation, and explanation. He uses them to solve problems…for a price. His brain is getting a little crowded, however, and the aspects have a tendency of taking on lives of their own. When a company hires him to recover stolen property—a camera that can allegedly take pictures of the past—Stephen finds himself in an adventure crossing oceans and fighting terrorists. What he discovers may upend the foundation of three major world religions—and, perhaps, give him a vital clue into the true nature of his aspects. -------------------- A note from the publisher: Brandon will send a free copy of this ebook to anyone who purchased the Subterranean Press hardcover. See the title page in the ebook preview for details.
