THE TRUTH WILL ENDURE. IT MUST. But our history is in danger of being rewritten by the progressive left and the “woke” mob. In PROFILES IN FREEDOM: HEROES WHO SHAPED AMERICA , Carl Higbie shines a light on the real heros of American history. Ronald Reagan warned in his 1989 farewell address: “If we forget what we did, we won’t know who we are. I’m warning of an eradication of the American memory that could result, ultimately, in an erosion of the American spirit.” The “woke” mob tries to silence voices of reason. They try to remeasure by their liberal, progressive standards our historical heroes who made an impact on our country. They must redefine everything to fit their narrative. They don’t teach our actual history because they hope that by ignoring it, we will forget, for when it’s forgotten, it is effectively erased. But people should not be erased, nor should our history. We should learn from it and grow, always climbing higher than the previous generation. Carl Higbie, a former Navy SEAL and national news anchor of Carl Higbie Frontline on Newsmax TV, believes in REAL America and the need to remember the heroes who made this country great. In Profiles in Freedom, he reintroduces some of the Americans who made this great country what it is today. People such as: William Penn, Ben Franklin, and George Washington William Clark, Samuel Colt, and Ulysses S. Grant Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony, and George Washington Carver And more To simply cancel others, especially our nation’s history and the people who made this nation great, is cowardice. It is small-minded thinking. And it is futile. After all, to forget history is to repeat it. The problem is that it takes an awfully long time to get back to a point of strength. Those who helped build this country lived and died for their ideals so that we could have a better life. The wise will not only build onto that, but they will teach their children to do the same. “As you journey through the histories of these American heroes, my sincere hope is that you are encouraged, revitalized, and made more confident. Every history you read is really your own history, no matter when you came to this great country. We are in this together.” —from the foreword by U.S. Sen. Markwayne Mullin

A one-of-a-kind presentation of the major achievements in statistical profile monitoring methods Statistical profile monitoring is an area of statistical quality control that is growing in significance for researchers and practitioners, specifically because of its range of applicability across various service and manufacturing settings. Comprised of contributions from renowned academicians and practitioners in the field, Statistical Analysis of Profile Monitoring presents the latest state-of-the-art research on the use of control charts to monitor process and product quality profiles. The book presents comprehensive coverage of profile monitoring definitions, techniques, models, and application examples, particularly in various areas of engineering and statistics. The book begins with an introduction to the concept of profile monitoring and its applications in practice. Subsequent chapters explore the fundamental concepts, methods, and issues related to statistical profile monitoring, with topics of coverage including: Simple and multiple linear profiles Binary response profiles Parametric and nonparametric nonlinear profiles Multivariate linear profiles monitoring Statistical process control for geometric specifications Correlation and autocorrelation in profiles Nonparametric profile monitoring Throughout the book, more than two dozen real-world case studies highlight the discussed topics along with innovative examples and applications of profile monitoring. Statistical Analysis of Profile Monitoring is an excellent book for courses on statistical quality control at the graduate level. It also serves as a valuable reference for quality engineers, researchers and anyone who works in monitoring and improving statistical processes.

"This book on freedom of speech and expression starts (Chapter 1) with an inter-cultural history of this valued right through the ages and then recalls (Chapter 2) the benefits for which we rightly value it. But what about speech that frustrates these benefits? Supporters of the benefits of free speech have reason to exercise voluntary self-restraint on speech which frustrates the benefits. They should also cultivate a second remedy: the art, illustrated in chapter 1, and called by Gandhi the art of 'opening ears', by other kinds of speech and conduct. Such voluntary methods are to be preferred to legal constraints. But (chapter 3) legal constraint is sometimes necessary. In the 21st century, social media funding based on manipulation of personal speech data requires skilful legislation and enforcement in favour of social media that protect our freedoms"--

"Freedom of choice is the subject. "How dare you!" challenged Greta Thunberg. The members of the Climate Summit had freedom of choice to act on the scientific evidence she presented rather than on personal desire. What is the difference between acting on desire and acting on what you prefer because of scientific acceptance? There is a form of preference that is an ultimate explanation of choice. I call it a power preference. It is a preference that loops back on to itself, a fixed-point vector, and suffices to explain human agency. The power preference includes scientific explanation and is compatible with determinism"--

Freedom of expression is a fundamental right at the heart of any democratic society. It is, however, inevitably restricted by other important values, including the right to privacy: the control individuals exercise over their sensitive personal information. The English law, since the enactment of the Human Rights Act 1998, has undergone a tectonic shift in its recognition of this right protected by Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) which the Act assimilated into domestic law. The new civil wrong, 'misuse of private information,' now affords greater protection to an individual's 'private and family life, home and correspondence.' The press is, of course, no longer the principal purveyor of news and information. The Internet offers abundant opportunities for the dissemination of news and opinions, including the publication of intimate, private facts. Social media, blogs, and other online sites are accessible to all. Indeed, the fragility of privacy online has led some to conclude that it is no longer capable of legal protection. This book examines the right of privacy from a legal, philosophical, and social perspective, tracing its genesis in the United States, through the development of the law of confidence, and its recent recognition by the Human Rights Act. The English courts have boldly sought to offer refuge from an increasingly intrusive media. Recent years have witnessed a deluge of civil suits by celebrities seeking to salvage what remains of their privacy. An extensive body of case law has appeared in many common law jurisdictions over the last decade, which shows no sign of abating. The Leveson Inquiry into the culture, practices, and ethics of the press, sparked by the hacking of telephones by newspapers, revealed a greater degree of media intrusion than was previously evident. Its conclusions and recommendations, particularly regarding the regulation of the media, are examined, as well as the various remedies available to victims of intrusion and unsolicited publicity. The law is locked in a struggle to reconcile privacy and free speech, in the face of relentless advances in technology. The manner in which courts in various jurisdictions have attempted to resolve this conflict is critically investigated, and the prospects for the protection of privacy are considered.

Power, Freedom, and Voting is an interdisciplinary book that presents a comprehensive insight into current research by economists, mathematicians, philosophers and political scientists on three intimately related concepts that are at the heart of theories of democracy and social welfare. The editors have brought together some of the leading scholars in the different fields to create a distinctive volume. Chapters include contributions on foundational and methodological issues in the definition and measurement of power and freedom and empirical studies of power and coalition formation in voting bodies. The volume also contains contributions that make an effort to bridge the gaps between different disciplinary approaches, including one on the importance of Machiavelli’s writing as a reference point for modern political theory, and others on the related concepts of fairness and responsibility. A majority of the chapters make use of game theory.
