W. Mordecai, Esq., the Hon. D. M. Barringer was called to the Chair, and on motion of Dr. W. J. Hawkins, Gen. W. R. Cox and W. W. Vass were requested to act as Secretaries. The committee on proxies reported through Joseph J. Davis, that there was a large majority of the stock of the Company represented: In person shares, by proxy shares total number represented in the meeting shares. Additional cars will, however, be very shortly procured, and every means be provided to secure the full advantages of this great avenue of trade now opened to our citizens. Arrangements have already been made to run daily express trains of passenger cars from Philadelphia to the Falls of Niagara, Detroit, and Chicago, commencing on the first of April next. Passengers leaving here in the morning, will arrive at the Falls early the same evening, where the trains will connect with those on the Great Western Rail road through Canada for Detroit, and thence by the Michigan Central Road for Chicago, arriving at the latter city in thirty-four hours from the time of leaving Philadelphia.
