With the first installment known as "My Personal Journal" complete and considered as an exercise tool based on finding council within the art of writing. R.L. Swarts has decided to continue the experiment with respect to the initial concept. That of course being an attempt to find resolution and peace of mind with the help of poetry. The new book, "Pressing On To No Avail" is the continuation of the fictional journal format. This time around even though the intention is the same, the writing has in fact matured with the hope that the reader has too. Mr. Swarts has taken certain freedoms to explore deeper concepts and perspectives. As indicated in the first book, without any formal training as a poet, the style of prose expressed in the text here has again tried to push the limits of expression. Atmosphere and emotion are the focus, space and feeling are described delicately within the metaphoric sentences. Stories that desperately want to be revealed and moments that deserve interpretation weave their way with a subtly yet poignant rhythm. R.L. Swarts has collected one hundred poems and developed ten images that make up the second attempt at expressing a creative exaggeration of life and it's reality. The combined processes of taking black and white photographs with a Polaroid land camera, then implementing found images/text to achieve a meshing of visual narrative best describes the pictures you'll find in the book. Similar to a photograph, these poems are a simulation of our day to day journey of self discovery and awareness. This book of poetry is developed in a non-subjective void and placed down as a means of reaching out to those who search for ways to get out what they feel, but perhaps have trouble finding the words to do so.

First published in 2004. Measuring the outcomes of educational practices is a modern phenomenon. Valuing their worth is as old as philosophy itself. It is the singular value of this collection of papers set in context and introduced by Ernest House that it holds in dynamic equilibrium both the measurement and the valuing sides of educational evaluation. This book will appeal to the student who will find the theoretical analysis of educational evaluation in its several meanings, suggested practices and also the specialist will also find much, not least a critical and challenging appreciation of educational evaluation theory and practice as it faces the problems of the final decades of the twentieth century.

"Do you think you have a choice, Maya?" Max sneered, raising an eyebrow. "You're nothing but a slave. And what do slaves do?" His grip tightened painfully, forcing a sharp hiss from my lips. Tears blurred my vision as I whispered, "They... obey." As the daughter of the Alpha’s Mistress, Maya was always an outcast, scorned by the pack and tormented by her step-brothers. Maximus and Leonardo Sterling—the infamous Sterling Twins—were future Alphas of the Blackthorn Pack, and they had one goal: to make Maya's life unbearable. Their perfect opportunity came on her eighteenth birthday, when fate delivered a cruel twist—they were her destined mates. That night, they shattered her innocence, marking her against her will, all to exact revenge for the sins of her mother. The Sterling Twins were masters of cruelty, and their thirst for vengeance knew no bounds... But what happens when Maya becomes pregnant by the very brothers who tormented her and chooses to flee? Years later, the twin Alphas are on the hunt once again—this time, not just for her, but for their son, whom they now want as the heir to their pack. (Book 1 of the series : 1-43)
