Excerpt from Precedents and Rules of Pleading in Civil Actions in the County and District Courts of Texas In 1886, the provisions of the Revised Statutes, and the decisions of the Supreme Court relating to pleading and practice in courts of record, were incorporated in a work styled: The Texas Practice Acts. The Treatise on the Principles of Pleading in Civil Actions, published in 1872, has been made the basis of the present work, all of which, however, has been re - written, and the decisions of the Supreme Court relating to that topic, and found in Dallam and eighty-three volumes of the Texas Reports, have been incorporated in the text or notes. A large number of precedents in pleading, with copious notes, have been prepared, in addition to those contained in previous editions of the works above mentioned.
