Whoever said "violence is a last resort" never had a Minotaur for a best friend. Warlock Marcus Shifter has been sent on the most dangerous mission of his career: travel to the remote Minotaur nation and convince them not to abandon the tenuous peace agreement between the humans and the paranormals. But securing that peace requires his best friend, Steve the Minotaur, to help him find a way in to the isolated homeland. A homeland Steve left behind long ago, intending to bury his complicated past. Secrets and intrigue aren't the only trouble Marcus uncovers with the notoriously blunt Minotaurs. Between political upheaval and their own civil unrest, rebellion is brewing. A Minotaur revolt wouldn't just mean the end of the Reformation Treaty, but a shattering of the peace it represents. Cut off from allies and low on ammunition, Marcus must find a way to prevent the coming storm before the human and paranormal worlds are plunged into a horrific, bloody war… Book three of the Shifter Chronicles

The Library of the Profane has everything your black heart desires. But we don't just allow anyone to get a library card. Need to summon a demon? Raise the dead? A clan of vampires bothering you? Do you like the really nasty werewolf erotica? The Library of the Profane has all of that, but not everyone can handle the contents (Some people can't handle their werewolf erotica). I've been a librarian here for five years and when I say I killed to get this job, I'm not being facetious. You can't check out our books. Some of the books are sentient and don't like it. We have rooms to perform the spells in or hell, we do have a copy machine (copies are extra). When a witch came in and said they needed to do a little necromancy, I didn't question it. They wouldn't have been given a library card if they were going to raise someone really bad. I helped with the necromancy because it's just my job as a librarian. Except it wasn't a normal resurrection. It was the physical embodiment of Chaos and when he woke up, he saw me first and now he's attached. Chaos personified is a horrible library guest and he won't leave with the witch who raised him. He's constantly getting into things he's not supposed to and he's really into the werewolf erotica. It's not like I can let him out because the Library of the Profane is meant to contain Chaos. The rest of the world isn't. He's awful about keeping his identity secret too. A warlock, a Hellhound, and a vampire know he's here and they are bugging me to let Chaos have a little fun. I just want a normal day of summoning demons, cursing people, and telling people to be quiet in my library. This is too much.

This thought-provoking study of paranormal phenomena traces the impact of supernatural beliefs on popular culture and, conversely, examines the influence of new communication technologies on research being conducted in the field. Did you know that interest in UFO research increased during the 1960s as a result of the Kennedy assassination? Or that America experienced a Satanic Panic in the 1980s that culminated with the longest, most expensive court trial in American history? This book reviews the history, economy, and community of paranormal research in this country, and considers the deeper meaning behind the philosophies and theories surrounding the industry. Paranormal Nation: Why America Needs Ghosts, UFOs, and Bigfoot explores the events that have defined paranormal belief systems today. From the birth of religious doctrine, to European witch hunts, to the increasing popularity of the supernatural in American television programming, the author examines the past and present conditions that have fueled interest in the unexplained and considers what this trend means for modern-day America.

In "The Chaos Conundrum," historian Aaron John Gulyas examines how the paranormal has intersected and influenced our culture in myriad ways, from the conspiracy beliefs of William Cooper and Exopolitics to the challenge that the stories of Gray Barker presented to our concept of self and time. He looks at the maelstrom of personalities, agendas, impressions, data, confusion, and contradictions that can be found in the world of the weird, and demonstrates how they have become an integral part of our lives, whether in the form of flying saucers, hauntings, religious revelations, psychic abilities, or dozens of other guises. Gulyas delves into the stories of the people who have attempted to create order out of the chaos. Along the way he recounts his own journey from enthusiastic believer in the "shadow government" and their underground bases to jaded academic skeptic, and then finally to someone who thinks there might just be something to the paranormal after all... but not what we have been led to expect or believe! "A compelling and very personal look at the impact the paranormal has had on the way we view ourselves and the world in which we live." - Paul Kimball, author of "The Other Side of Truth" "A major contribution to paranormal research and observation." - Nick Redfern, author of "Final Events" and "Contactees"
