Excerpt from Outing, Vol. 21: An Illustrated Monthly Magazine of Sport, Travel and Recreation; October, 1892-March, 1893The outline of the trip which we pro posed to take was from Lake Superior to the Lake of the Woods, following as nearly as possible the international boun dary. Investigation found three ways by which to enter this region. The first one, naturally considered, was to leave Lake Superior where the boundary leaves it, the mouth of Pigeon River. This was actually chosen and every plan formed with it in view, but as it became better known the difficulties of the first twenty or thirty miles of it seemed insurmountable. They would have been no more difficult to overcome than were some that we did meet on our journey.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
