Michael Meyer (ca. 1672-1733) was born in Palatine Germany. He and his wife Anna had five children, one of whom, Johannes Hans Meyer (ca. 1699-1766), emigrated to America, settling in Pennsylvania. Johann Christoffel Bauer (d.1749) and his family immigrated in 1731 from the Palatinate of Germany (via Rotterdam) to Philadelphia, and settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania. His surname is spelled as Bebert and Boberth is county records, and some of his descendants spelled the surname Bawer, Beber, Bieber, Bewer as well as Baver. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania and elsewhere.
