"The Golden Jubilee celebration of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, erected in 1875, has been a great religious demonstration. The newspapers of Milwaukee have given it a remarkable publicity, for which we are greatly thankful. But it is fitting that there should be a permanent reminder of our Golden Jubilee Year. Hence I am pleased that The Catholic Herald has published this Milwaukee Archdiocese Golden Jubilee Souvenir, containing brief histories of the Archdiocese and of the four Dioceses of the Province of Milwaukee, and other appropriate reading matter. The souvenir magazine will recall to all of us the debt of gratitude we owe to the pioneers of the Faith in this territory; and most of all, by contrasting the present with the past, it will show us how we ought to thank God for His abundant blessings upon the Church in the Archdiocese and the Province from the earliest days to this Golden Jubilee Year of 1925. At the same time this Souvenir will be a constant reminder of the sacred duty of the Catholics of the Province of Milwaukee to continue on even larger lines the good work of Catholic Faith and Life accomplished in the last fifty years."--[Page 3]
