Addresses the deployment rate for innovative technologies (IT) developed by the Office of Science and Tech. (OST) at the Dept. of Energy (DoE) and compares this rate with those of other similar org's. Addresses obstacles to the use of IT at DOE's cleanup sites and efforts to overcome these obstacles. It determines (1) to what extent IT developed by OST have been deployed at DOE sites and how this rate of deployment compares with the rates of other gov't. org. that develop environmental technologies; (2) what progress has made in overcoming obstacles to deploying IT at DOE cleanup sites; and (3) what DOE is doing to increase the deployment of IT.
