Excerpt from Note on the Ancient Mexican Calendar System I returned my revised manuscript to Cambridge in February, but then an unexpected delay of several monthsoccurred in the printing of proof-sheets. This delay has proved to be of utmost value to me, for it afforded me leisure to continue and extend my researches. The results I have recently gained are of such definite interest that I am tempted to submit them to the International Congress of Americanists as my complete work is in press and is not likely to appear for several months. In presenting these results I am somewhat. At a dis advantage. For I am not able to refer my readers to the el large and 10 small analytical tables of the Mexican Calendar System, that accompany my publication. Nor am I able to discuss the Opinions of previous writers as tho roughly as in my work. On the other hand the results I desire to make known are solid facts that, to a great measure, explain themselves and can be readily verified.
