-Neubau Forst Catalogue- is the 432-page print catalogue of a digital collection of tree silhouettes and sculptures seen at different seasons. Working by hand, the Neubau designers digitally removed the trees from their original Berlin surroundings and thereby crafted a body of visual material whose scope, outstanding quality of detail and excellent image resolution sets it clearly apart from conventional tree libraries compiled with autotracing tools. Each book contains an individual download code that guarantees you an exclusive discount of 25% on purchases from the data archive in the standard image (TIFF) and vector (EPS) format.

With the DSOS1 manual, Berlin-based Designershock present their webzine in interactive print form. Unlike numerous online-print-books, Designershock take the experimental challenge of creating an interactive print medium, i.e. the book bestly "functions" in combination with the internet. The interactive user manual Designer Shock Operating System 1 (DSOS1) includes instructions and the accompanying System CD leads the (registered) user to exclusive links and stations that enable the downloading of special fonts and other tools. For example, the reader and user reaches the exclusive DSFonts on the website which are presented in the book. By playing the respective games (DSEPM-"Electronic-PlayMates"), he or she can win and download them. The book-site-system is rounded off by two further sections: DSTLS (Designer Shock Tools) and DSDT (Designer Shock Desk Top). In the Tools section, one discovers the DS M.E.E.E.K. (ModulatedEsotericE-TypeKreator). DS M.E.E.E.K. is an exciting, interactive tool for synthesizing and modulating pixel font layouts. Desk Top offers desktop decoration, including DS Screensavers, DS-Wallpapers and DS Icons. This absolutely innovative connection between print and web creates an optimal environment for presenting the newest Designershock works. It also provides the "user" with access to future exclusive software updates by Designershock. The e-zine www.designershock.com presents uncommon information about outstanding designers as well as Designershock's own theme-orientated graphics.

"Wood is suitable for use in multi-storey building construction with barely any restrictions. This is new and requires creative rethinking of tried and tested practices in wood construction: classical categories can be replaced by mixed construction methods as necessary within a project, which yields completely new possibilities in designing wood structures. The Manual provides architects, engineers and wood specialists with the essential expertise on the new systematic and construction methodology, from the design to prefabrication to the implementation on site. It lays the grounds for mutual understanding among everyone involved in the project, to facilitate the necessary cooperation in the integral planning and construction process." --Publisher.

Building Books gives insight into the process of creating a book. In seven thematic fields the author lays out the premises of his activity as a designer and publisher: vision, context, process, protest, object, duration, effect. The reference to the process of building and the parallels to architecture is in keeping with Lars Müller’s conviction that a book design emerges from an understanding of its content. The author describes the principles of his activity, settles accounts, takes stock after twenty-five years of Lars Müller Publishers, looks into the future, and speculates about the book’s chances in competition with rapid digital media.
