On June 11, 1993, the President declared a major disaster for the State of Minnesota due to severe storms, flooding and tornadoes that struck Southwestern Minnesota between May 6, 1993 and May 19, 1993. The Interagency Hazard Mitigation Team convened in Marshall on June 28, 1993 at the Disaster Field Office (DFO).
