Summary of Love’s Journey. In this book, I have had more than my share of life’s problems, and I feel like we all share the same common thoughts in wondering how one’s life can be so promising yet deceptive. How love and hate co-exist in a realm of equal compromise. To the edification of good, nevertheless, evil always seem to follow. Life is not to be mistreated, so life has to be embraced. However, love is only surreal to those who treat it like that. Therefore, we have the power to declare our happiness and decipher who, what, when, where, and why people try to keep us miserable like themselves. Along this journey, love and pain has been produced, and we all must go through this chapter of life. I feel like its time to let others feel what I have experienced and now realize what has been due to me since my very existence (my happiness) and to show you all that you too can have peace in whatever situation you may be facing because you cannot stay down forever. I have tasted a piece the goodness, and I want more. Finally, to those who have chosen to read this book, I hope you find useful information to move on to your destiny, your happiness, and your eighth wonder of the world. You have to want better and hold on to what life has in store for you. If it’s for you, then no one else can take it. P.S: Find your reason for living and there you will find what makes you tick! How can a modern relationship possibly survive? By looking to the past, for the age-old mythic traditions of the world provide all the advice we need about love, according to Michael Gurian. And the wisdom they offer is strikingly similar across cultures: a relationship must ultimately look beyond itself and be consciously accepted as a spiritual path. Gurian has drawn on a range of spiritual and mythic traditions to create the new model for relationship that he presents in his popular workshops. This model, called the "Lover's Journey," consists of four distinct "seasons": 1. The Season of Enchantment: the springtime of falling in love 2. The Season of Awakening: the summertime, when the euphoria of romance is past and we learn independent co-existence 3. The Season of Partnership: the autumn of maturity, when the fruits of our joint efforts can be enjoyed 4. The Season of Nonattachment: the winter of companionship, quietude, and the letting-go of old age

Choosing to leave their family and friends in the Ohio Valley and settle in the Kentucky Mountains had not been an easy decision for the newlyweds Maggie and Samuel. Returning to the wagon-train and finding that her husband and everyone else had been killed by Indians, Maggie, who was just barely sixteen, collapsed to the ground. Had she not fallen asleep after bathing at the falls, she would have heard the horrible screams that rang through the Kentucky hills earlier that afternoon. She too would have been killed. Returning to his tribe after a month of spiritual growth in the Dark Hills, the young Indian chief, Brave Eagle, had just stopped to water his horse when he heard the whimpering in the brush. Discovering the filthy, bloody girl hysterically biting her lips and tugging at her hair he tied her hands and took her back to his village. It was during that first month of being held captive in the village that Maggie learned she was going to have Samuels baby. As she finally had a reason to live, she prayed to God for strength and guidance. In the beginning, she hated the chief who brought her back to his village and left her with his grandmother, but as time passed Maggie found herself thinking more and more about him because his gentle touch to an old ones arm or kind smile when he talked with a child made her wonder what kind of man he really was.

My Journey to Self-Love is about a girl struggling to find true love. As a small baby, she was adopted into a family that wanted her to feel accepted but had a hard time showing it. Most of her life she experienced sexual and verbal abuse from the people she was supposed to be able to trust. Growing up, it was hard for her to make friends and she dealt with years of being bullied. Most of her life she had searched and wished for someone to love her. So as she grew up, relationships were always unhealthy ones, until she met the love of her life when she was just eighteen. His name was Derrick. She could be her true self around him and he still accepted her. The young girl's parents didn't like him and wouldn't allow them to continue seeing each other which eventually pushed the two apart. This devastated the young girl and pushed her to do things that only caused her more pain. The choices she was making showed no self-respect or that she cared for herself. She felt no one else loved her or felt she deserved to have good people in her life, so she went after the bad ones and she found them. After years of living in emotional pain, she felt there had to be more out there; that she could have a life she had always dreamed of. She turned to God, asking him to take control and let her find true love before she died. God did just that. He brought Derrick back after all of those years of being apart. Derrick showed her that she was beautiful and that she deserved the best in life. Finding him caused her to come to life again. This time, she wasn't going to let anything get in her way.

India is not just a geography or history. It is not only a nation, a country, a mere piece of land. It is something more: it is a metaphor, poetry, something invisible but very tangible. It is vibrating with certain energy fields that no other country can claim. For almost ten thousand years, thousands of people have reached to the ultimate explosion of consciousness. Their vibration is still alive, their impact is in the very air; you just need a certain perceptivity, a certain capacity to receive the invisible that surrounds this strange land. It is strange because it has renounced everything for a single search, the search for the truth. In these pages, we are treated to a spellbinding vision of what Osho calls "the real India," the India that has given birth to enlightened mystics and master musicians, to the inspired poetry of the Upanishads and the breathtaking architecture of the Taj Mahal. We travel through the landscape of India's golden past with Alexander the Great and meet the strange people he met along the way. We are given a front-row seat in the proceedings of the legendary court of the Moghul Emperor Akbar, and an insider's view of the assemblies of Gautama the Buddha and his disciples. In the process, we discover just what it is about India that has made it a magnet for seekers for centuries, and the importance of India's unique contribution to our human search for truth.

Peggy Knickerbocker, a native San Franciscan, and daughter of a drama critic and a political activist, had a long and charmed career in the world of food. She taught cooking, ran a catering business in the 1970’s and co-owned, with her childhood friend, Flicka McGurrin, two colorful restaurants, one still thrives on the waterfront with McGurrin as sole owner. In 1989 she left the business to write about food. At first she wrote steadily for magazines such as Saveur, Food and Wine and Gourmet and then went on to write four cookboo ks, the last won a James Beard Award. She’d eaten her way through every continent by the time she was done writing about food. Along the way, Knickerbocker had the greatest friends and a fascinating life, including years in Paris. She’d wrestled most of her demons to the mat, but with men, she’d faltered. After an early divorce and one or two good relationships, she repeatedly under-served herself with her choices. Late in middle age, Peggy realized that she was quite satisfied with her life. That was when the man appeared. She’d never considered a businessman, let alone one originally from the Midwest. Since Knickerbocker had come of age in San Francisco’s Bohemian North Beach during 70’s, she’d gone for unconventional and often unavailable men. Robert Fisher, a widower, a man with innumerable attractions, pursued her hotly. She clung to her independence only to realize she could have it all. She discovered the man with whom she’d spend her life, and, along the way, the subject of this book.
