One of the greats of blues music, Willie Dixon was a recording artist whose abilities extended beyond that of bass player. A singer, songwriter, arranger, and producer, Dixon's work influenced countless artists across the music spectrum. In Willie Dixon: Preacher of the Blues, Mitsutoshi Inaba examines Dixon's career, from his earliest recordings with the Five Breezes through his major work with Chess Records and Cobra Records. Focusing on Dixon's work on the Chicago blues from the 1940s to the early 1970s, this book details the development of Dixon's songwriting techniques from his early professional career to his mature period and compares the compositions he provided for different artists. This volume also explores Dixon's philosophy of songwriting and its social, historical, and cultural background. This is the first study to discuss his compositions in an African American cultural context, drawing upon interviews with his family and former band members. This volume also includes a detailed list of Dixon's session work, in which his compositions are chronologically organized.

Ever since my retirement from the Edmonton Police Service, January 8, 2014, I would often pray and inquire of my Precious Saviour Jesus Christ, what is His will and His purpose for my life. Often times after praying, my mind would be filled with words that I would quickly write down and to my surprise it would be in the form of poetry. Prior to this I had never written or delved into poetry. This book is a small portion of what I have written since the beginning of 2014. I can truly say that everyone wants to love and be loved. Some of the poetry that is captured in this book is from my own experience and what I have observed in my family and friends. We each have our battles in life and the love that stands the test of time emerges from the Battlefield of Love.

From the very first moment Saratu met Bindul, he made her believed that she was more than any other woman he had ever seen in the world. He bathed her with love, bathed her, bathed her and finally drowned her completely into his love. Saratu loves him with the truest love of her heart. As matter-of-factly, they were head over heels in love. They admired each other, they adored each other, they allured each other, they liked each other, they want each other, they need each other, they beseechingly desired each other and they loved each other like politicians with corruptions. They declared their love for each other and not so long they stood in front of an overfilled church congregation to publicly declare their love for each other in a one-in-town society marriage. They swam in their love and lived very, very comfortable and happily in love. Saratu wasn't in need of anything, even sex. Bindul gave her all the practical part of love, the love that was made in heaven for a woman, that kind of love that made her feel as though she was the only EVE with the only ADAM in this modern world and she was wholly dependable on it. Like King Solomon to his wives and concubines, Bindul lavished Saratu with the sweetest lovely words and praises. He gave her all that she needed in life. But when Saratu later discovered that her husband was still madly in love with Jimikat, his primeval girlfriend, things wasn't the same again for her. Their loveliest sex-packed marriage suffered a temporary drought of sex. Saratu first run to her dear friend, Dakmikat for help. Despite doing everything, her husband clung onto Jimikat like a tick to a cow.
