Memoirs of a Jew born in 1916 in Łuków, Poland, to the Chajt family. Chs. 6-14 (pp. 47-109) relate her experiences in the Holocaust. Under the German occupation of the town, in 1940 she joined a resistance group. In July she was arrested by the Germans and sent to the Lublin Castle prison, but managed to escape a year later, with the help of the Polish underground, and returned to Łuków. Her mother and four of her siblings were deported in May 1942 and killed, and one sister who was pregnant was killed during the roundup. Wrobel survived as a worker of the Dietz poultry factory; she helped her father and four other siblings hide for a while, but they were also eventually killed. During the final roundup in Łuków in May 1943, she and some members of her resistance group hid; afterward they fled to the forest and, as a partisan group, were patronized by the Armia Ludowa. In winter 1944 their camp was attacked by the Armia Krajowa; many Jews were killed and Wrobel was wounded. In summer 1944 the vicinity was liberated by the Soviets. In 1945 Wrobel, married and with a baby, fled to the U.S. occupation zone in Germany; in 1947 they settled in the USA.

As I look back over my life, I see how the good God has been good to me. We all have a journey that God has planned for us. When I took the wrong path, God redirected my path. My Life, My Story, My Way is not all about me but also about others whom God placed in my path to help me build my character. My character is the only thing going to heaven--not what I have done, not how much money I made or what type of house I live in but my character. God gave me a wonderful mother who demonstrated resilience, compassion, hard work, faith, and love for her family, especially me. God blessed me with a wonderful wife who believed in me and encouraged me to do my best and to have the faith that he will see me through. We all have struggles in life, but it is not the struggles we face but how we react to them. My book shows the struggles along my journey and how God was there to pull me through. God gave me all I needed to be successful and live the life he wanted me to live.

"Frank 'O' Blue Eyes' Sinatra in the fifties and sixties is the explosive, explicitly profane story of one of the most venerated entertainers of our time. The year 1950 is a time of extreme emotional turmoil for the beleaguered Sinatra. His plunge from the epitome of popularity is highly attributed to his clandestine affair with beautiful actress Ava Gardner. As a result, his TV show, personal appearances, recording sessions and movie audience attendance suffer greatly. His highly publicized separation and eventual divorce from wife Nancy leads to a tempestuous two-year marriage to the ravishing Ava. While Frank is unable to solve Ava's quintessence, he can never get over his profound, unyielding love for her. She remains the girl of his dreams. Following his motion picture Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in the film "From Here To Eternity" in 1954, his career resurges to new and even greater heights. His ill-fated marriage to rising star Mia Farrow who is 30 years younger and is called a "hippie" and "flower girl" results in a roller coaster ride ending after only two tumultuous years. Join with Frank as he once again journeys to the top of the entertainment world, accompanied by the fabled "Rat Pack," consisting of Dean martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop, Shirley MacLaine and several others. Frank is highly responsible for the election of President John Kennedy. This story is told in first person by Marty tanner - one of FrankSinatra's close associates.

A bright star of the Italian Renaissance, Girolamo Cardano was an internationally-sought-after astrologer, physician, and natural philosopher, a creator of modern algebra, and the inventor of the universal joint. Condemned by the Inquisition to house arrest in his old age, Cardano wrote The Book of My Life, an unvarnished and often outrageous account of his character and conduct. Whether discussing his sex life or his diet, the plots of academic rivals or meetings with supernatural beings, or his deep sorrow when his beloved son was executed for murder, Cardano displays the same unbounded curiosity that made him a scientific pioneer. At once picaresque adventure and campus comedy, curriculum vitae, and last will, The Book of My Life is an extraordinary Renaissance self-portrait—a book to set beside Montaigne's Essays and Benvenuto Cellini's Autobiography.

I wrote this book, through my own voice, about my life experiences during the Jim Crow era, when the concept of "separate but equal" permeated the entire Southland of our nation, and the impact it made on my heart, mind, and soul. In this memoir, I give my description of how the ugly truths about segregation and discrimination during the early '50s and late '60s until the present day impacted my life. I describe how the unforgettable day that shamed the nation unfolded before my very eyes, and I include my accounts of unforgettable events leading up to that day and the aftermath. The remainder of the book gives my personal reflections about hope for justice, peace, healing, and reconciliation. My words on the pages within are honest and straightforward. I utilized the wisdom and the knowledge that I learned during my journey through life to convey my true feelings. Being able to tell my story has helped me to move peacefully beyond the painful memories of the darkness of the past into the light of change. I have learned how to fuel my thoughts with positive possibilities because divine order prevails in my mind and my life. And I do believe that God is the source of all prosperity, and I give thanks in advance knowing that my highest good is unfolding now. I have moved beyond the mindset of powerlessness to seeing life through forgiving eyes. Yet the memories of the ugly events of the past, I will never forget. Because on an underlying level, racism still pledges our society.

Born in a small town in New Hampshire, Lucynda had a dream. All she ever wanted in life was a little house with a white picket fence, four kids, and to live happily ever after. She married her childhood sweetheart at age nineteen, three weeks before he was to leave for Vietnam. This book takes the reader down Lucynda’s long and very rocky journey of divorce, raising a child with his own personal challenges, coming very close to committing suicide, the bar scene, and many very bad choices in men. Then on to a second marriage that also fails, but not until after encountering a stepchild with many emotional problems, an extremely volatile relationship of being emotionally and sexually abused; to finally experiencing personal growth, peace, and a relationship with God. This book will make you cry, make you laugh, and hopefully help you to realize that you don’t have to stay in a bad relationship; that there is hope for anyone who thinks they can’t get out; and that you will hopefully learn from her mistakes.
