My Hunting Adventures, The Mysterious Stump is a story of a young boy, Tommy who travels on his first hunting trip with his family. Before the family arrives at the camping spot, Tommy experiences firsthand the enormously large Northern New Mexico Wilderness Mountains. The realness of these mountains sets quickly in Tommys mind as they drive up the steep dirt roads cutting in-between trees and alongside cliffs to their camping spot. After safely arriving to their destination, Tommy begins his adventures in the newly introduced mountains by setting out to find a perfect hiding place for the first day of the Elk hunt. In finding his perfect hiding spot he encounters a mysterious tree stump. This stump steals a lunch that Tommys mother had prepared for him while he sets up his blind- hiding spot. In closely examining the tree stump Tommy finds a discovery of scratching, screeching noises that are coming from within the tree stump. Tommy curious of the stump covers the top with loose dirt and leaves. To his surprise he encounters creatures that live within it who remove anything placed on top and manage to eat his food without visibly been seeing. After creating clever schemes and setting up food traps Tommy comes face to face with these creatures. He then spends his time trying to rid them of his self claimed stump in the forest but the creatures do not want to leave. Tommy finds himself in a position of learning about natures surprises that are both seen and unseen. He also learns the importance of respecting the forest and those that live within it, no matter if their home includes living in an old tree stump. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/my-hunting-adventures/id503026550?ls=1&mt=8

'Gone Hunting' is a factual account of a young Australian's introduction to the wonderful world of hunting. From Gerard Abrams' humble beginnings of shooting rabbits around his home town in New South Wales, Australia, to hunting chamois and tahr in New Zealand's rugged Southern Alps, buffalo in the searing heat and dust of Northern Australia and rusa deer in the steamy South Pacific tropic's. 'Gone Hunting' moves along nicely and is guaranteed to keep the reader informed and entertained. Those of you who are regular readers of Wild Deer & Hunting Adventures magazine will have already been captured by Gerard's style of writing an absorbing story that puts you alongside him as he continues his wilderness hunting adventures. There is more to hunting than just firing a shot, there is also more to the hunter's life than success on the hill. This book by Gerard will convince you that he has an extremely interesting story to tell, and has told it very well.If some filmmaker with imagination that is unafraid of the subject of hunting reads this book, it could well be an ideal vehicle for them to show both sides of a hunter's persona.

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author and host of Netflix’s MeatEater comes “a unique and valuable alternate view of where our food comes from” (Anthony Bourdain). “Revelatory . . . With every chapter, you get a history lesson, a hunting lesson, a nature lesson, and a cooking lesson. . . . Meat Eater offers an overabundance to savor.”—The New York Times Book Review Meat Eater chronicles Steven Rinella’s lifelong relationship with nature and hunting through the lens of ten hunts, beginning when he was an aspiring mountain man at age ten and ending as a thirty-seven-year-old Brooklyn father who hunts in the remotest corners of North America. He tells of having a struggling career as a fur trapper just as fur prices were falling; of a dalliance with catch-and-release steelhead fishing; of canoeing in the Missouri Breaks in search of mule deer just as the Missouri River was freezing up one November; and of hunting the elusive Dall sheep in the glaciated mountains of Alaska. A thrilling storyteller, Rinella grapples with themes such as the role of the hunter in shaping America, the vanishing frontier, the ethics of killing, and the disappearance of the hunter himself as consumers lose their connection with the way their food finds its way to their tables. The result is a loving portrait of a way of life that is part of who we are—as humans and as Americans.

An acclaimed bow hunter who defies the stereotype that hunting is a man’s game, Eva Shockey is at the forefront of a new wave of women and girls who are passionate about outdoor sports. Eva Shockey grew up expecting to be a dancer like her glamorous mother. But something about spending family vacations RV-ing across North America and going on hunts with her dad sparked in her an enduring passion for a different way of life. In Taking Aim, Eva tells a very personal story of choosing the less-traveled path to a rewarding life in outdoor pursuits like hunting and fishing. For her, as her millions of fans can attest, that has meant hunting as a way of harvesting food, caring deeply about conservation, sustainability and healthy eating, and getting closer to God in nature. In this riveting memoir for the adventurer in all of us, Eva takes readers along as she hunts caribou on the rugged Aleutian Islands, tracks a 1,500-pound bull moose across the unforgiving Yukon, and meets many other challenges of a life in the wild. Along the way we learn that hunting is about so much more than pulling a trigger. "My story is about discovering your dream," writes Eva. "It's about following your passion, mastering your skills, taking aim no matter who thinks you’re crazy…and then letting the arrow fly. If you’ve done all you can, I can tell you that you’re almost certain to hit your mark." Whether you’re a lifelong hunter or a city dweller who has never set foot in the wilderness, Eva’s story delivers an empowering message about rejecting stereotypes and expectations, believing in yourself, and finding the courage to pursue what you care about most.
