Susan, a young White House staffer, becomes suspicious when one of her colleagues disappears. The colleagues sister informs Susan that her brother suspects the administration is raising money on the black market in Vietnam to help finance the presidents 1968 re-election. The colleagues sister also informs Susan that four Navy SEALs were killed in Vietnam when they intercepted the presidents campaign money. A car is reported burned, with an unidentified body inside, the day Susans colleague disappears. Susan suspects her friend was murdered. When a man Susan believes to be involved with her colleagues disappearance approaches her, she escapes. Susan travels to Vietnam, with a Navy SEAL she knew from home, and uncovers evidence exposing the black market. Susan gets caught in the Tet offensive of 1968 and kills a Viet Cong. At the time her colleague disappeared, Susan was dating a member of the administration. Part of the evidence she uncovers in Vietnam proves her boyfriend is involved in the black market. Susan and the SEAL travel back to the United States and turn the evidence over to a former boyfriend of Susans who is an FBI agent. The result of uncovering the black market has a devastating effect on the 1968 presidential election.

She sets up a TV exec who wanted kids five years ago, a forty-year-old baseball-loving virgin, and a consultant with a rigorous five-page checklist for her ideal match. Sasha hopes to find her clients The One, like she did. But when Jonathan betrays her, she spirals out of control—and right into the arms of a writer with a charming Southern drawl, who she had previously set up with one of her clients. Born in Liverpool in 1945, Roy Starkey grew up fascinated with the natural world. As a schoolboy he joined the local botanical society and made a number of trips to isolated bird observatories around the British coast. At the age of twenty-five he became disillusioned by the politics of university research and decided to leave and do his own thing. With very little money, no boatbuilding skills and no experience of the sea he built Sea Loone, a thirty-three foot sloop, and sailed away. The boat and crew were soon tested on the ocean, first losing the mast over the side and then sailing into one of the worst gales ever - the 1979 'Fastnet Gale' - which claimed eighteen lives on the 306 yachts participating in that year's biannual 'Fastnet Race'. Over the next nearly forty years Sea Loone sailed throughout the tropics finally completing three very convoluted circumnavigations of the world. Having experienced hardships, tragedies and many happy adventures, Roy at last decided to put pen to paper and record his remarkable story.
