Purple Angel is the journey of Carnikko Randall's trials, tribulations and triumphs in life. Carnikko is born into dire poverty, the daughter of an alcoholic father and over-religious mother. Conflict between her parents keep the child's mind confused and her nerves frayed. Carnikko is the second of four children born to Rachel and Teddy Randall. When Carnikko is four years old she develops an imaginary friend, a purple angel, and in times of sorrow and devastation, she calls upon the purple angel to lend her wings so she can fly to a special place in her mind, and in her special place all her being is at peace, and she has all she wants to fulfill her mental and physical needs. Being able to transport herself into fantasyland by using the purple angel's wings helps keep her sanity, and curtails the anger growing inside her. In her eighth year, tragedy strikes, and the family is torn apart. Carnikko is forced into a lifestyle that is completely foreign and disturbing. She goes through mental turmoil trying to adjust to the drastic and often traumatic changes. The Holy Spirits help guide her through the transition. through them all.
