Terri Lynns inspirational story shows her fight to be happy in the midst of a living hell. Her two young sons moved away with their father. Devastated, without a will to live, Terri Lynn surrenders her life to God for the strength to carry on. Her story demonstrates that when God steps in, magic and miracles follow. Living on welfare amid shattered dreams, she had to choose happiness or die in sadness. After a few years, she awakened to new possibilities and set a goal. Once her goal was set, divine guidance took over and directed her, much like a navigation system. Before long, she was living a luxurious life with her sons, and her happiness level went over the top. Her gratitude to God for delivering her from her past pain to such happiness and success put her on a spiritual path, a journey within. Her message is simple: The decision to be happy, no matter what, makes everything feel better, and when you feel good, good things happen.

My loving husband, Ben Gonzales and I, has been married since 1953, and we were married in Surigao City, Philippines. We have four children, Hannah, Dorothy, Lemuel, and Samuel. We all migrated to the United States in 1971. I taught Kindergarten for four years at The Southside Baptist Church in Covington Kentucky. Then, I became an associate pastor at The Chicago Temple Methodist church in Chicago, Illinois in 1975. While I was at the Chicago Temple, I became the pastor of the "Filipino Mabuhay Fellowship" congregation for three years. Thereafter, I became the chaplain at The Bethany Nursing Center in Niles, Illinois, from 1982 until 1987. And from 1988 to 1993 I served as a pastor at The Norwood Presbyterian Church in Chicago. I retired in June of 1993. Today, I am enjoying playing with my great granddaughter, Solei. She is two years old and her parents are Jamie and Stephanie. Hannah is married to Calib, and Dorothy is married to Ricky with Derick and Krystal as their kids. Lemuel's kids are Jamie, David, Christopher, and Elizabeth. During the Summertime, Ben and I are busy planting flowers and vegetables at our backyard. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration estimates that Americans in the early 1970s were smoking upwards of 35,000 pounds of marijuana per day. By the time the decade drew to a close, Time magazine reported that reefer had become “the most widely accepted illegal indulgence since drinking during Prohibition.” You can thank Jimmy Moree for helping to feed America’s insatiable pot habit. Nicknamed “Jimmy Divine” for his teetotaling ways, he would become one of the most successful marijuana traffickers of the 1970s, smuggling high-grade South American weed across the tempestuous seas into North American ports of call. He was born and grew up poor in the Bahamas. That life was forever changed on a morning jog when Jimmy literally stumbled onto several million dollars’ worth of prime Colombian grass. He disposed of the weed with a little help from a law-enforcement friend and was surprised to earn over three hundred thousand dollars for his trouble. It was the first deal of many. The money was easy, and the perks fantastic. Jimmy went on to make?and give away?a fortune. And now award-winning journalist John McCaslin is telling Jimmy’s story. Several of the characters are identified by their actual names or by nicknames. Identities of others have been changed to protect the guilty. Rest assured, you’re in for a white-knuckle ride on the open seas where adventure, enterprise, and entire fortunes go up in smoke. “McCaslin brings his exceptional reportorial talent to bear in a fascinating exposé of the drug trade.” —G. GORDON LIDDY “Told in a breezy, witty style, McCaslin’s book captures moments in relatively recent Caribbean history when it was . . . possible to make a fortune by the ability to steer a boat stealthily through dangerous seas.” —MARK BOWDEN Endorsements "I'm delighted to see that John McCaslin has climbed out of his political trench in Washington long enough to set sail on this astonishing journey through the precarious Caribbean reefs, and beyond. Somehow, in typical McCaslin fashion, he manages to bring his readers back to the nation's capital in a chapter that will certainly have official tongues wagging in Washington." -- Katie Couric, anchor and managing editor of the CBS Evening News and former co-host of NBC's Today "This story is so compelling . . . John McCaslin has put it all together in a way that simply made me want to just keep on reading. Wow." --Wolf Blitzer, anchor and host of the CNN newscast The Situation Room "For years everybody in Washington has turned to John McCaslin's Inside The Beltway column for the inside skinny on what is going on in our nation's capital. Now, in Weed Man: The Remarkable Journey of Jimmy Divine, McCaslin brings his exceptional reportorial talent to bear in a fascinating expose of the drug trade." --G. Gordon Liddy, Watergate figure and nationally-syndicated radio host

An inspiring guide to finding your life’s purpose—what spiritual teachers call dharma—through mindfulness and self-exploration. Stephen Cope says that in order to have a fulfilling life you must discover the deep purpose hidden at the very core of your self. The secret to unlocking this mystery, he asserts, can be found in the pages of a two-thousand-year-old spiritual classic called the Bhagavad Gita—an ancient allegory about the path to dharma, told through a timeless dialogue between the fabled archer, Arjuna, and his divine mentor, Krishna. Cope takes readers on a step-by-step tour of this revered tale and highlights well-known Western lives that embody its central principles—including such luminaries as Jane Goodall, Walt Whitman, Susan B. Anthony, John Keats, and Harriet Tubman, along with stories of ordinary people as well. If you’re feeling lost in your own life’s journey, The Great Work of Your Life may help you to find and to embrace your true calling. Praise for The Great Work of Your Life “Keep a pen and paper handy as you read this remarkable book: It’s like an owner’s manual for the soul.”—Dani Shapiro, author of Devotion “A masterwork . . . You’ll find inspiration in these pages. You’ll gain a better appreciation of divine guidance and perhaps even understand how you might better hear it in your own life.”—Yoga Journal “I am moved and inspired by this book, the clarity and beauty of the lives lived in it, and the timeless dharma it teaches.”—Jack Kornfield, author of A Path with Heart “A rich source of contemplation and inspiration [that] encourages readers . . . to discover and fully pursue their inner self’s calling.”—Publishers Weekly “Fabulous . . . If you have ever wondered what your purpose is, this book is a great guide to help you on your path.”—YogaHara

There were two souls in the universe waiting to be united. One individual was in Rhode Island, and the other was in Massachusetts. One was a tiny toy poodle, and the other was a compassionate human being. Both were struggling with challenges in their lives before the union. Neither one knew they were going to meet someday. The human being had a vision to the universe to find a toy poodle. Perhaps the tiny poodle also had a vision to the universe to find a loving home. The tiny poodle was a scrubby stray found on a hot day under a car, with hair so long and badly matted, he could not even move. He weighed three pounds. The human read about the tiny poodle and went to the shelter, where they cleaned him up so well that he looked so beautiful. Five people were interviewed, but the compassionate human was the lucky one chosen, or they were lucky to find each other. They brought each other peace, comfort, and love in a true, loving bond. It was meant to be. They awakened each other's souls and had such an amazing journey together that will touch your heart.
