Sometimes illumination occurs spontaneously or, as Ram Dass experienced, in a heart-wrenching moment of opening. More commonly, it happens when we polish the mirror of the heart with daily practice—and see beyond the illusion of our transient thoughts and emotions to the vast and luminous landscape of our true nature. For five decades, Ram Dass has explored the depths of consciousness and love and brought them to life as service to others. With Polishing the Mirror, he gathers together his essential teachings for living in the eternal present, here and now. Readers will find within these pages a rich combination of perennial wisdom, humor, teaching stories, and detailed guidance on Ram Dass' own spiritual practices, including: Bhakti Yoga—opening our hearts to unconditional lovePractices for living, aging, dying, and embracing the natural flow of lifeKarma Yoga—how selfless service can profoundly transform usWorking with fear and suffering as a path to grace and freedomStep-by-step guidance in devotional chant, meditation and mantra practice, and much more For those new to Ram Dass' teachings, and for those to whom they are old friends, here is this vanguard spiritual explorer's complete guide to discovering who we are and why we are here, and how to become beacons of unconditional love.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth ... Let your bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; for even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable. -Khalil Gibran Humanity continues to evolve. Today’s children have unique qualities that are helping the planet evolve spiritually by moving from the “old” energy of fear (greed, corruption, competition, and stress) into the “new” energy of love (integrity, manifestation, and cooperation). The New Children possess specific characteristics to help them fulfill their purpose to bring the planet into a space where Peace and Honesty reign, where Harmony between all living creatures is the norm, and where Cooperation is given and expected as we realize that we are all connected to each other by Love. Differing from previous generations, these New Children are becoming more and more connected to Divine; they remember our spiritual connection. Even though each child expresses this gift in a unique way, as a group they are a more intuitive, more telepathic, more sensitive generation. Twin Shining Lights is a beautiful narrative that introduces readers to this perspective on life—because story matters.

A Path of Diamonds is a book of dreams, a book of secrets, and like all books, a book of love. The words flow within the square root of time. It is a book in death that is alive. Its a book of life in time. The devils book of life is a book of fear. And like all books, it is laced with the angels book of hope. It is a walk through the shadows within the spells of life, like two hands of flush in a game of poker, but who has the higher hearts?

“If you want to be the man of your good old days, your life can’t ease in haste or love dancing back in time forever though. Because a rabbit is not Easter, there are no politics to John Patrick’s poetry except the misconception that weakness draws pathos, or even dogmatic logos, instead of ethos. Because autonomous strength almost always ends with someone having to say ‘no hard feelings’ instead of placing more value on the fact that meaningful talk is often pathos and, hence, logos or politically derived conversation. Acevedo wants his readers to feel his joys and sorrows, not to simply translate them into pity or envy” (John Patrick Acevedo; Hampton, Virginia).

Manteo, NC—An ascetic romantic, John Patrick Acevedo began his quest for God and love while he was a freshman at Clemson University. As he showed up rather nervously to his very first college course, he was quite stunned to see a beautiful professor, Amanda Dyer, who would prove to be instrumental to his writing. During his sophomore year at Boston University, he started to “write poetry that was exactly the same as the Holy Bible.” It was only after graduating after Boston, however, that he committed to writing poetry. In his latest installment of poetry in Healing w/o Patient Suffering (for Virginal Sole Distinction): More Ethos by John Patrick (published by Xlibris), Acevedo discusses the spirit or karma from an animal magnetic dimension of human nature and how it is actually the passion of the sociological aspects of autonomy and choice. “These are original poetry with innovative ideas that have a lyrical style of my own. My poetry book is romantic, aesthetically spiritual, and quite emotionally moving. Its overall theme is that weakness is fundamentally seen as pathos or logos, when in actuality, it is an ethos,” Acevedo says. When asked what he wants readers to take away from his writing of the book, Acevedo says, “That life is brief and that it is all about what you put into it.” Of the eighty-six poems in the book, most have appeared in the previous Synergy Press (synergy-press.org) books he published between 2012 and 2018. “Healing w/o Patient Suffering (for Virginal Sole Distinction): More Ethos by John Patrick” By John Patrick Acevedo Hardcover | 6 x 9in | 184 pages | ISBN 9781796023497 Softcover | 6 x 9in | 184 pages | ISBN 9781796023480 E-Book | 184 pages | ISBN 9781796023473 Available at Amazon and Barnes & Noble
