Excerpt from Minutes of the Particular Synod of Albany: Convened in the City of Schenectady, May 5, 1841 The Classis of Greene reports -that in view of the past year they have occasion for mingled feelings of humility, gratitude and hope. The churches of Leeds and Kiskatorn, and the first church of Coxsackie have been refreshed with an extensive out-pouring of the spirit, and large numbers have been added to these churches, as the fruits of the revi vals which they have enjoyed, as will appear frorn the tables. Hopeful indications of good are manifest in other churches, par ticularly where prayer meetings and sabbath schools are in a flourishing condition. Classis sincerely laments over much apa thy in relation to the church of Christ, and much world liness which prevails in some of the churches. They deeply lament that catechetical instruction is almost universally neglectedfliq the present system of religious education, and urge all thé pastors to decisive action, in order to elevate the cause of ca-f techetical and Biblical instruction. From a collective view of the state of religion, the Classis say, that they have occasion to express sincere gratitude to God for his beams of love and mercy to their churches, in the midst of all.
