For the formation and preparation of this book, my previously published articles, which are available on my personal blog sozercizmeci.com.tr, have been compiled. As a Human Resources Professional, with experience for more than ten years, I have been working and writing in particular with respect to the recent legal developments in the fields of “Labor” and “Foreigners” with a great interest and joy. Throughout my professional career, my entire working life has focused on these relevant two terms. Because of working in a multinational culture, I have always fully believed in the success of the combination of the local and global and achievement of a balanced compromise between these two. Thus, the non-comprehensive list of topics mainly discussed in this book, specifically provides information with respect to the principles and procedures within the framework of the Turkish laws regarding the interaction between “Labor” and “Foreigners”. Nothing in this book shall be deemed as a comprehensive review of the relevant Turkish legislation. This book has been prepared as a portfolio of my works as well as a beginners’ guide for those interested in understanding the basics of the most relevant Turkish principles especially in the fields of Human Resources, Expatriates, Immigration and International Non-Governmental Organizations. This book only contains general information not any professional information or legal advice. Though I have shown ultimate attention during the formation, preparation and control of the information provided in this book as to ensure its accuracy, I shall not be held responsible for any error, omission or inaccuracy herein. All developments until 25 January 2022 have been taken into consideration. All articles are also available at sozercizmeci. com.tr which is active since 2008.

The concept of 'employee' is arguably the most important one in labour law, defining, as it does, the scope of the discipline as a whole. This important new publication aims to develop a restatement of the concept of the employee in European labour law. The study identifies both problems and solutions that have emerged, clearly setting out comparisons between the different member states' approaches. The country reports explore both statutes and case law, tracking their contribution to legal doctrine. The objective of the restatement is to increase knowledge and gain a better understanding of one of the most crucial aspects of European labour law. Derived from the renowned multi-volume International Encyclopaedia of Laws, this book provides a systematic approach to transport law as applied in Turkey. The book describes the main sources of transport law, jurisdiction and courts, state immunity, and the legal role of transport intermediaries, with detailed reference to maritime law, transport by road, transport by air, transport by rail, and inland navigation. A special chapter is devoted to multimodal transport. Among the elements of transport law considered are the legal status of the vessel; its acquisition, ownership, and registration; vessel liens and mortgages; the position of master and crew; maritime salvage and assistance; marine pollution; collision; and carriage of passengers. Other topics discussed include liability and limitation of liability, charter parties, and transport under bill of lading. Case law, intergovernmental cooperation agreements, and interactions with environmental, tax, and competition law are also covered. Its succinct yet scholarly nature, as well as the practical quality of the information it provides, make this book a valuable resource for lawyers handling transport contracts or cases affecting Turkey. It will also be welcomed by researchers and academics for its contribution to a field that continues to gain significance in the study of comparative law.
