The Fourth Edition continues the organization of the previous editions, with a chapter introducing the student to the organizations which prepared the Uniform Commercial Code and the Code's basic coverage, then chapters that take the student through the creation of the sales contract, the terms of the contract, the performance of the contract, and damages for breach. The final chapters deal with excuse by impossibility or frustration, property rights of buyers against third parties, and documentary transactions. The authors have delayed making this revision until the ALI/NCCUSL revisions of Article 2 and 2A were approved by the two organizations. Therefore, this edition contains discussion of the changes made in the revision process. Those changes are covered by notes, problems, and questions, which relate the new provisions to cases applying the previous rules.
