A human female born into a breeding manor never has a choice...I am a slave, but at least I am alive. When the man with wings and scales gave me a second choice--I took it. I'll do what I must to survive. I'll preside over their Draken Games--and choose a winner every night to share my bed. It's the price I have to pay for food in my belly, and a roof over my head. The dragon man who brought me here acts like he hates me, but I notice him always watching me. As if he's waiting for something. Traded from one prison to the next I have but one hope left--the Lost Siren. I must find her before the demon hordes come if these men--Drakens--have any chance of escaping their mountainous prison, and me along with them. Perfect for fans of Jennifer L. Armentrout, The Lost Siren is the exhilarating introduction to the Rise of the Drakens series. This is a full length reverse harem/poly fantasy novel. This pioneering volume of essays explores the destruction of great libraries since ancient times and examines the intellectual, political and cultural consequences of loss. Fourteen original contributions, introduced by a major re-evaluative history of lost libraries, offer the first ever comparative discussion of the greatest catastrophes in book history from Mesopotamia and Alexandria to the dispersal of monastic and monarchical book collections, the Nazi destruction of Jewish libraries, and the recent horrifying pillage and burning of books in Tibet, Bosnia and Iraq.

Birds of mystery, intelligence, and curiosity, ravens and crows have fascinated humans for untold centuries. In this first in a series of beautifully illustrated books that celebrate the power and beauty of the animal kingdom, Catherine Feher-Elston considers the raven in the contexts of mythology, folklore, history, and science. From the raven's role as trickster in Native American religion to his ability to captivate ornithologists and biologists with his intriguing behaviors, Ravensong pays tribute to the elegance and grandeur of two of America's most ubiquitous avian species.

The Lost Words by composer James Burton takes its inspiration and text from the award-winning 'cultural phenomenon' and book of the same name by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris: a book that was, in turn, a creative response to the removal of everyday nature words like acorn, newt and otter from a new edition of a widely used children's dictionary. Both the book and Burton's 32-minute work, which is written in 12 short movements for upper-voice choir in up to 3 voice parts (with either orchestral or piano accompaniment), celebrates each lost word with a beautiful poem or 'spell', magically brought to life in Burton's music. At its heart, the work delivers a powerful message about the need to close the gap between childhood and the natural world. Burton's piece was co-commissioned by the Hallé Concerts Society for the Hallé Children's Choir and the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The piano accompaniment version was premiered at the Tanglewood Festival in 2019 by the Boston Symphony Children's Choir, of which Burton is founder and director. The Hallé Children's Choir will premiere the orchestral version of the full work in Manchester, UK, post-pandemic. Vocal Score Co-commission by Boston Symphony and Hallé Concerts Society for their respective Children's Choirs. Two versions - with orchestral or with piano accompaniment. The vocal score is the same for both versions. James Burton is a composer but also a conductor. He is conductor of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and choral director of the Boston Symphony. The book The Lost Words, exquisitely designed, has won multiple awards and is an international best-seller. The vocal score includes Jackie Morris's beautiful imagery in its cover design.

I am not a writer by any means, just a simple county girl, daughter, wife, mother and friend. I’m a feed truck driver for a local hog production company. My husband is a School teacher. We neither hold impressive worldly titles or celebrity status, but God has inspired me over the past couple of years to share our story of loss in book form. As Christians, we believe our pain carries a purpose, a purpose of hope in tragedy. I can’t imagine not sharing our story with others experiencing the struggle of living in the loss of a child. My soul intent is to bring a measure of insight, expectation and anticipation for what lies ahead if we choose to trust God and His timing. Life doesn’t always turn out the way we planned, but God provides the people and tools we need to navigate through His will over ours. Please read, be encouraged, and be blessed!
