Embrace the power of storytelling with Little Stories of Your Life. Start telling your own story, find your creative self and be more mindful. Combining the wellbeing benefits of mindfulness, creativity and daily photography, this book shows you how to use words and photographs to capture precious little moments and how to share these in order to connect with others. Each chapter explores the different ways you can tell your own stories, considers why you might choose to tell them and helps you to create a patchwork of tiny tales about your life, however small they might be. Throughout the book, Laura shares her own personal stories and research that shows you how to tune out of the bigger picture and focus on the everyday. There are exercises to gently guide you through how to journal and harness your inner creativity, as well as tips on improving your photography, photo challenges and writing prompts to get you started. It’s easy to feel that our own lives are not enough, but real lives are not defined by bright, exciting events: we don’t need a grand narrative arc. It’s the stretches of time in between that matter, the tiny moments and the daily choices that make us who we are.

The Webster's dictionary defines "mind" as "the part of a person that thinks, reasons, feels, understand, and remembers." The beautiful thing about children is that their minds are open to so many possibilities. They naturally problem solve, and discover solutions where adults often get stuck. This is the principle behind the series Little Mind Books. We explore problems and find creative solutions. Our goal is to inspire children to explore for themselves, not only in seeing themselves in the characters, but to feel like they are part of the adventures. In the Night of the Lights we join Sam on an adventure with Grandma "Gigi" to discover what the lights are in her garden. What Sam discovers is better than magic, it is real. Sam learns a lesson in problem solving, and also learns the importance of respecting the natural habitat of earth's creatures.Join us with your children in discovering this real magic, it may spark adventure in your own backyard!

My name is Evelyn B. Hill I was born in Enfi eld, NC, at the age of three years old Were my fi rst memories of doing things with my sisters and brothers; I am one of eleven children; my parents were poor and worked very hard to give us the best life they could. In the year of 1941, the army drafted my father leaving behind my mother and fi ve children. Mother started working in a relatives grocery store to help get things we needed. The fi rst time I remember wanting to write was when I went to kindergarten; my teacher was talking to the class, I remember using my homework paper to scribble what at that time I called writing. When I was 12 years old I wrote a little play that my sisters and brothers put on outside in our yard for mother, she was impressed; daddy did not have time for such things. Mother did not have much education; they married at a very young age. There was not time for going to school and being a wife and mother. My parents were farmers and I never thought that we were poor, we had everything we wanted to eat we grew vegetables, and we had fruit trees, also my father raised beef, pigs, and hens to lay eggs. We grew everything we needed except we bought fl our for bread making. On Sunday, when we had moms handmade chicken potpie what a treat I was too happy to realize I was poor. My parents gave us love enough to smother us. Now that I am at this ripe-old-age of seventy, I am a mother of six children, ten grand children, and nine great-grand children, I feel that I really want to put myself in gear and write what I have on my mind, I know that I can make some children and teenagers happy reading my books. I graduated from high school in 1955 and married the same year. My last employment was working in a corporate setting that I enjoyed very much; I came into this position at the age of fi fty years old. I retired in 2004 and was thinking about going back to school but changed my mind and decided to work with crafts. I worked at my own pace making the most beautiful fabric wreaths, which I taught myself to make one a day, and I was very happy. I still felt that something was missing in my life and I wanted to do something more fulfi lling.
