A beautiful Robin Hood reconnects with her love Little John after transporting to the real world in this “paranormal romance filled with suspense” (SmexyBooks). For centuries, Gideon Montrose has mourned the loss of his true love. Throwing himself into his work, he has served the King of Fairies without question—and, often, without mercy. So when the King orders him to apprehend a notorious thief, Gideon obeys. But this time, Gideon is on for a shock when he finally gets his hands on the beautiful culprit. Arabella Locksley is none other than the spirited, unpredictable woman he knew back in Make Believe. As Robin Hood, Arabella stole from the rich and gave to the poor with Gideon—then known as Little John—by her side. Believing that she had fallen to her death five hundred years ago, Gideon naturally has some questions. But Arabella has secrets she must keep even from him. Now Gideon faces an impossible choice: he must either betray the woman he once loved, or the king he's bound to serve.

"After more than forty years, Lucy Daniels, author of the prize-winning Caleb, My Son, returns with a new novel, The Eyes of the Father, with the same vigor and passion but with a honed wisdom and wealth of insight. Daniels is a remarkably gifted writer who sings a tremblingly beautiful song." -Dannye Romine Powell, author of Parting the Curtains: Interviews with Southern Writers "As a black woman artist who deals with race and identity in my paintings, I resonated with the inner conflicts of Lucy Daniels' beautifully drawn characters in The Eyes of the Father." -Beverly McIver, Artist "Simple clarity lit onto layers of complex emotions are the brushstrokes by which Lucy Daniels paints her tale of a South never rid of its history. The Eyes of the Father sings to a soulful rhythm of sustenance in the battle between tradition and its invisible enemy, indifference." -Martin Tucker, Writer/Editor As a small child in Los Angeles, blue-eyed, red-haired, black-skinned Lily Price, daughter of a flamboyant white musician and a beautiful black singer, glories in the delight her father shows for her and her strikingly "special" appearance. But when tragedy brings Lily and her mother back east to the rigidly conservative home of her fundamentalist minister grandfather in Millboro, North Carolina, "special" is viewed as "freak." Lily's emotional response to this loss is only one of several with which this story demonstrates the power the past wields over the present.

THE LITERARY WORKS OF JOVANKA BACH Produced and directed by John Stark (ph.818 222 6031) I was rummaging through my dear deceased wife Jovanka Bachs belongings, when I uncovered a hidden treasure a never before seen copy of a play entitled Night song For The Boatman, which she had written over twenty years ago, and filed away without telling me about it. And when I read it I was utterly amazed. I immediately went into production with the piece, which I found as fascinating as the best works of Albee, Beckett and Ionesco. It deals with a character she called, Harry Appleman, an aging, alcoholic, washed-up poet, plays dice with fate, and loses. He is called upon to make a mysterious boat trip, by voices from the wilderness, but through various cunning contrivances he tries to avoid his mortality. Then he discovers his humanity when he learns he cant sacrifice his daughter Jessie, for the boat trip, but a tricky graduate student, Gordon Levy will do instead. The Lets Talk Off-Broadway reviewer Yvonne Korshak praised the production I staged at Barrow Group Theatre, calling it a skillfully crafted play, beautifully acted and designed, a totally enjoyable and rewarding evening of theatre.
