It began with a mistake. When Tanaka and Nakata are given each other’s papers back, they come to a horrible realization... They have almost identical names. And test results. And body types. And taste in fashion. And sports scores. And hobbies. The list goes on, and as annoying as it is, at least they know they always have each other. Like Two Peas in a Pot is intended as a stand-alone companion to our two volumes - Like Two Peas in a Pod. While volume 1 concentrates on look-alikes in film and on TV, and volume 2 looks at theatre and ""live"" versions of Stan and Ollie, this edition bridges the gap! In here you will find stunt doubles, music videos, advertising, quiz shows, false leads, rumours and films that never saw the light of day. Full of interesting trivia, this is another fine edition for your Laurel and Hardy book shelf!

If you have experience the loss of a child then you know of the pain. If you are looking for solace I hope this sharing will help. If you are looking for spiritual insight, you should read a different book. This is not it. When I first began writing this little book, it was to be a condemnation of the trucking industry, complete with a lot of facts and figures and graphs. Every year, some 5000 Americans are killed on our highways by tractor trailers, but this is not the focus of my writing. The trucking industry is a large, nasty and powerful force in our nation. It has power for the stuff of science fiction novels. But many businesses in America have such power. The American economy is a great thing, but all things must have a vulnerability to answer to the public. Franklin Roosevelt warned that the liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerate the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than their democratic State itself. That, in its essence is Fascism, ownership of government by an individual by a group, or any controlling private power. I ask that you understand that the chronology may seem to jump around a bit, but it is how I feel. This book is many things. It is a commentary on social difficulties from the perspective of an African-American male. It is a healing. It is also a vehicle in which our daughter will continue to live. It is recorded family history. It is my hope that this small writing and sharing will bring enlightenment to some and help in some way to those unfortunate enough to have forced upon them the burden of losing a child.

ALICE FEENEYS NEW YORK TIMES AND INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER “Boldly plotted, tightly knotted—a provocative true-or-false thriller that deepens and darkens to its ink-black finale. Marvelous.” —AJ Finn, author of The Woman in the Window My name is Amber Reynolds. There are three things you should know about me: 1. I’m in a coma. 2. My husband doesn’t love me anymore. 3. Sometimes I lie. Amber wakes up in a hospital. She can’t move. She can’t speak. She can’t open her eyes. She can hear everyone around her, but they have no idea. Amber doesn’t remember what happened, but she has a suspicion her husband had something to do with it. Alternating between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident, and a series of childhood diaries from twenty years ago, this brilliant psychological thriller asks: Is something really a lie if you believe it's the truth?

A rich and memorable story from a Coretta Scott King honor award-winning author about a teenage foster girl looking for a place to call home. Dess knows that nothing good lasts. Disappointment is never far away, and that’s a truth that Dess has learned to live with. Dess’s mother’s most recent arrest is just the latest in a long line of disappointments, but this one lands her with her baby brother’s foster family. Dess doesn’t exactly fit in with the Carters. They’re so happy, so comfortable, so normal, and Hope, their teenage daughter, is so hopelessly naïve. Dess and Hope couldn’t be more unlike each other, but Austin loves them both like sisters. Over time their differences, insurmountable at first, fall away to reveal two girls who want the same thing: to belong. Tanita S. Davis, a Coretta Scott King Honor winner, weaves a tale of two modern teenagers defying stereotypes and deciding for themselves what it means to be a family.
