We believe that our opponents are equally with ourselves desirous to arrive at truth. The critics have appealed to the development of events as recorded in the Old Testament in verification of their theories: we endeavour to show that upon these theories the history is unworkable in an one of the centuries between the period of the great lawgiver and the completion of the Canon.
