Their numbers have been dwindling over the centuries and the last of the Leprechauns in Ireland have sought sanctuary in the north of Ireland, high in the mountains of Mourne. Lenny, who is about to celebrate his 11th Birthday is disillusioned with his way of life that has changed substantially in the last 7 years, living underground in the roots of the trees during daylight and only coming out at night as the fear of the humans now discovering them has increased. Everything changes when a family of Leprechauns disappear, Lenny, his grandfather, and his friend Soil, are caught up in danger as they go looking for help in the most unlikely places. Betrayed by the Sprites, Lenny and Soil, now separated from the other Leprechauns, have to fight for their survival in a harsh environment as they encounter mythical and magical creatures along the way.

Small superheroes are relatable figures that children can easily connect with. Unlike larger-than-life heroes, they face challenges on a scale that aligns with a child's world - navigating school, solving friendship dilemmas, or standing up to a playground bully. This relatability allows children to see themselves in these characters, learning that they too can overcome obstacles with courage and determination.

The poetry in this book has been written by me over many years. I once received a book of poetry for a birthday present from an aunt, written in the front cover was I hope you can write poems like these one day. I write to express my feelings when somebody I care about dies and sometimes I just write for the fun of it. A variety of different things inspire me and sometimes these poems just come to me. I hope that you enjoy these poems. Belinda Roach is a mother of nine children and has been married for seventeen years. She writes when ideas come to her and she writes for the therapeutic benefits of writing. She enjoys spending time with her family and writes for her children and herself. She spends most of her time with her children and she volunteers her time at her childrens school helping whenever she can. I would like to thank my husband Lloyd Roach for all of his support and love over the years.

The Irish are deeply passionate about their kinsmen, their country, their culture, and their way of life, as this collection of mysteries so richly illustrates. Slow to anger and equally slow to forgive at times, the children of the Emerald Isle have had planty of experience on both sides of the law. The sixteen stories of Irish crime and mystery in this volume tell of good and bad men and women--heroes and villians both. All feature characters for whom being Irish is more than just a state of mind--it's a way of life.

About the Cover This simple sketch is over 100 years old. It hung in the farm house I was raised in as a small boy. The artist was a relative on the Jackson side of my family tree. The original sketch now hangs in the cabin where I live. My grandmother tried to explain the meaning of the sketch to me when I was eight years old, but it was way over my head. Now that I have entered the final chapter of my long journey, I look at the sketch a lot differently than I did when my grandmom talked to me about it so long ago. The old man is not only old but very wise. The sweet, mellow smell from his pipe is now an integral part of him. The fragrance of Spring completely surrounds the young girl. As she tells him about his upcoming long journey, you can see the slight smile on his face. He knows his next journey will be soon and very short. I suspect that he will give her very little advice. He knows that unraveling the mysteries and finding your own answers are what make our long journeys worthwhile. Poppy About the Stories You may find some of them are sad, some funny, and some a little mysterious. However, I hope they rekindle and stir emotions you have hidden deep inside you-for a very long time.
