The Op den Graeff/Updegraff/Updegrove family originally of Germany. Descendants of Herman Op den Graeff (1585-1605) of Krefeld, Germany. Three grandsons and a granddaughter (Herman, Dirck, Abraham and Mar- garet) arrived in Philadelphia with the now famous Krefeld immigrants aboard the 'Concord' in 1683, and settled in Germantown, Pa., an area which later became a section of Philadelphia. Pierre Francois Rassat was born in 1793 in Giez, Haute Savoie, France. His parents were Philibert Rassat (1752-1803) and Georgine Metral (b.1753). He married Jeanne Claude Henri. They had seven children. The family began emigrating in 1846. They settled in Lewis County, New York. Descendants and relatives lived in New York, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and elsewhere.
