A sexy, bohemian photobook following Kate Bellm's muses across the globe This fabulously produced photobook is the culmination of British photographer Kate Bellm's (born 1987) 10 years of travels with friends and lovers swimming, kissing and skateboarding. Bellm's pure and atmospheric photography seduces into an otherworldly psychedelic paradise--with offbeat colorful landscapes, crazy cacti, hot hazy vistas, flickering palms and colossal rock forms. Her beautiful nudes build intoxicating narratives that radiate a romantic and bohemian alchemy. Like a young and female Helmut Newton, Bellm portrays femininity with fascination, aligning elegance, sexuality and female empowerment. In friends and lovers, Kate finds her models and muses--this allows her to work with a sense of spontaneity and ease, which takes on the charm of youthful freedom. Each image takes the reader on a new sun-drenched road trip or adventure.

This book is a selection of candid and often amusing interviews with independent singer/songwriters around Australia. From the wide-eyed innocence of teens starting out to the older more experienced musicians who have faced the disappointments and frustrations of competing against the major labels. Each published article concludes with the web links of the musician interviewed. The idea being that, having been introduced to them as an individual, the reader can then visit their website, check out their music, and show much needed support.

Frank Horvat (*1928 in Abbazia, today Opatija, Croatia), a pioneering fashion photographer and one of the first professional photographers to use Photoshop, can meanwhile look back at around seventy years of activity and a dazzling career. The grand seigneur now allows us very personal insight into his private life: the autobiography in pictures reveals personal moments from all phases of his life. We encounter the great themes of humankind, such as birth and death, are witness to his ability to play, and to handle animals, we see his family, his friends. They are everyday images like anyone could have assembled in an album. However, there is one slight difference: a master was clearly at work here early on, the quality of the photographs speaks for itself. In the appendix, Horvat comments, in most cases at length, on each of the chronologically ordered pictures.

In this book, photographer Akila Berjaoui shows how her love for the beach is inextricably linked with her artistic vision. Akila Berjaoui’s incredibly sensual photographs often feature sand, sun, water—or a combination of all three. In her first book, this highly sought-after fashion photographer, armed with her favorite old analogue cameras, takes us to breathtaking seaside locations, from her hometown of Sydney, Australia, to the bathing hotspots of Italy, France, and Brazil, to name just a few. Much in the tradition of Slim Arons, Bruce Weber, Peter Beard, Claude Nori, and Juergen Teller—all of whom she regards as influences on her work—Berjaoui’s photos harken back to the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s with their soft colors and sultry joie de vivre. As a woman, Berjaoui is able to draw out her female subjects with a sense of kinship, rather than voyeurism. One of the world’s most in-demand photographers, Akila Berjaoui is destined to make a name for herself in the field of travel, beauty, and lifestyle photography.

A multistoried apartment building. Its plaster is grayish beige and exudes a kind of petit-bourgeois tristesse; it has the requisite carpeted balcony railings, the lone flower box, even the deckchair is there. A familiar view. It is only on second glance that we see that something is wrong. All of the balcony doors lead to nowhere, and in turn, the balconies themselves cannot be accessed.German photographer Frank Kunert (*1963 in Frankfurt/Main) has not uncovered any sort of architectural scandal. With Balcony is one of the works that sensitively and enigmatically turn familiar narrative contexts upside down and question reality itself. Far from being simply photographic satire, Kunert's miniatures give three-dimensional form to puns on thoughts and words, making them tangible in the truest sense of the word. Kunert spends weeks constructing his model sets down to the smallest detail and then photographs them in his studio-in the process, creating the antithesis of worn and hackneyed concepts and ideas. Exhibition schedule: Galerie S, Siegen, February 22-March 28, 2008 · Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie, Darmstadt, April 18-20, 22008 · Galerie Camera Obscura, Dortmund, August 16-September 6, 2008 · Artbox Frankfurt, Galerie der Editionen, October 2-29, 2008 · Stadtmuseum Münster, February 23-April 11, 2010
